this thing is super easy to install you run the wire down to the spark plug and wrap it around the plug wire a few times and your down installing it runs on its own battery so if you forget to turn it off its not a drain on your batteryand the battery life on this thing is unreal I forget to turn it off all the time so its probably got 100+ hours and is still showing full battery life it turns on automatically when you start the bike and it picks up on the voltage going through the plug wire the bad part is programming this thing instructions are not very clear and it took me a bit to get it done right and it only shows the time in 24 hour military and only when the bike is NOT running other than those 2 minor things I like this tachometer

Was looking for an hour meter for my backup generator, and ran into this unit. It has all the features I wanted(especially the replaceable battery!) at the price I wanted to pay. This is a rugged, very useful device to monitor the run time on the generator. It also has the handy feature of being able to set reminders for service, which is very important. Like the backlight feature, as it really helps when lighting is low in the campground. The RPM indicator is very accurate, and the ability to program previous hours is a huge plus to maintaining the service records on whatever you connect this to. You can't go wrong with this!!

This Tach meter really helps keep track of my run time in my new Honda VX21 mower. It brings me peace of mind to know my equipment will be serviced on time. The is meter will make it simple to keep your equipment well serviced. One down side to it. You really need to be patient and read the instructions carefully. It took me 1 hour to program it. On the positive side. You need no tools to install it. It even came with a "3M" Velcro tape. Installation was only 10 min. Top quality product!! I'll be buying another soon, as I have ordered a new peace of equipment which requires valve adjustment.

The operating procedures are unintuitive. There’s no pattern to the steps. The instructions are wrong and contradictory in parts. Text says press button twice, diagram says press button once. Complex watches that use just two buttons have been around a long time. There’s no need for this nonsense. Will require you correct the instructions and keep them as you won’t be able to recall the random nature of the steps.

I put one of these on my Yamaha f15. It's presets out of the box were dead on for my motor and it shows very close to motor specs RPM at idle and at FT. Had it a few months and have put 20 hours on the motor using it with no problems.

The media could not be loaded. I really like this meter. Being able to set two different service hrs. is a really nice feature. It even turn the back ground red when it's time to service your equipment. The included mounting velcro is very durable and strong. I'm using this on our portable generator to keep track of oil changes and cleaning the air filter. The unit turns on when the engine is started, but has to be manually turned off after engine is stopped.

The product looks and works great however the instructions are a little confusing. I played around with it for about 30 minutes and figured it out! I bought this for my grandson go kart so I could monitor maintenance times and it really works better than I expected!
