Ordered the 26 for my 12 year old based on the size chart and they fit well. Slightly large in the waist, but he is skinny and wears a belt with them and they look great. Love the material. He wore them on a bike ride to a lake over spring break and was able to SUP in them and they dried quickly for the ride back. He now lives in them.
