Best budget alternative to a console controller I've found
I wanted a controller for PC gaming for the rare title where a controller is really that much better than kb&m controls, but I wasn't about to shell out $80 for an Xbox controller and the adapter needed to use it for PC. This is the one I settled on, and after at least 100 hours of gameplay use from Hades alone I can say it's a quality controller.Note that this does not have rumble capability of any kind, nor does it have some of the fancy speaker/microphone stuff Sony and Microsoft have started adding to their controllers. If you want all the bells and whistles of the expensive controllers - well, you're gonna have to buy one of the expensive controllers. But if you don't really care about that stuff and just want a well built controller with the standard modern Xbox/PS style layout, this one is a great choice. I have never had a game that supports controller input fail to map the controls correctly or anything like that. And if you install Logitech's profiler software, you can fully rebind the controls yourself - allowing you to correct annoying control setups in games that don't have built-in rebindable controller controls, or if you decide you want to use it for a game that doesn't even have controller support you can rebind the buttons to keyboard buttons so as far as the game is concerned you're just using keyboard controls. Not sure exactly how sophisticated the profiler is in terms of macros and the like because I've never bothered to install it, since this controller just works with no fuss for all the games I've tried it with.It even has a toggle switch on the back to switch to directinput if you wanna play some ancient game that lacks xinput support (if you don't know what this means, don't worry about it - xinput has been the standard for years now and any remotely modern game with controller support is gonna use it).All the buttons still feel good after 100+ hours of heavy use. I haven't noticed any issues with thumbstick drift, a problem even the "premium" controllers sometimes have. The d-pad is much higher quality than on most cheap controllers - it has 4 separate switches for the 4 cardinal directions instead of just one in the middle, so it is more reliable and feels better to use). The controller itself feels a bit lighter than an Xbox controller but still feels sturdy and durable.I'll admit I'm a big of a Logitech fan, so maybe I was biased to like this controller - but there's a reason it's one of the most common recommendations for a budget PC controller and the top seller in the PC controllers Amazon category. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to an Xbox controller, and don't mind a wired controller or lack of rumble support, this is the product you're looking for. At full MSRP of $24.99 it's a very good deal, and if you're patient and look for deals it's not hard to find in the 15-20 range at which point it's an absolute steal. If you want a budget option that is wireless and has rumble support, look into the Logitech F710.

Great Controllers for PC gaming
I have had Logitech G F310 controllers for many years (2010/2011), and they have always worked well without fail. I decided to purchase a couple more for another system in our home, and the new controllers appear to be exactly like the older ones. The controllers connectivity has always been plug and play on both Linux and Windows systems, and have always been recognized by different games (so far). The size of the controller is comfortable in larger hands, and I have never experienced lag, drift, or responsiveness issues (so far). Highly recommended as the perfect value controller for PC games.

Good first controller after decades away, but I wish I had spent the money to get a better one first
For the money, this Logitech controller is fine. It was a way for me to test out for a while whether or not I would use a controller with my computer.I used the Logitech controller sporadically for a couple of years and it only presented with minor issues that either a little bit of cleaning or simply operating the controls for a bit took care of, like a button that would stick a little until it was cleaned a little or a stick that would drift a little until it was jiggled enough.Comfort-wise, I have fairly large hands and it hasn’t been great for me. Usable, but not great. The controls themselves mostly did fine, but in some emulations I couldn’t get the Logitech to quite do what it should have done while the new Xbox controller I switched to a month ago does those things without any issues.I don’t regret buying the Logitech controller and I think it’s OK for a very occasional gamer, but I should have bought the Xbox controller first and been done with it. I have controllers to use for other tasks than just gaming and the Xbox controller’s ergonomics alone make it worthwhile for me compared to the Logitech. Also, Logitech has mostly forgotten this controller, so that’s a bit of a bummer.

Buy this before investing in a "premium" or cheap hall effect controller!
No frills or gimmicks, it's cheap, built like a tank and has a consistent button feeling. Forget about those poorly built cheap hall effect controllers flooding the market, this will last far longer!Review of the buttons:XYAB feel satisfying and moderately tactile with 0 scratch.Analog sticks have a slight bit of friction when at the edges but nothing unexpected or too distracting.D-pad is genuinely among my favorite I've used despite preferring fully split or retro ones. It's a bit mushy but in a...not bad way somehow. Feels "relaxing" yet satisfying to use despite not having very distinct tactility. It can definitely be used for retro emulation unlike many other D-pads using this design, just don't expect to get the SMB1 world record with it.L/R buttons are the most distinctly tactile and feel great. The L/R triggers are a bit stiff, probably the weakest implementation of all the buttons on this controller but they're at least smooth and have a solid bottom out feeling. I think they might be well suited for some racing games. And to elaborate further on the build quality, there's ZERO creak and ZERO rattle. Very impressive! Highly recommend this bad boy, as I understand it's a classic and I can see why. Personally I have no reason to "upgrade" from this one especially considering how varied in quality so-called "premium" controllers can actually be.
