I bought this to plug into a 240V outlet in my garage to connect to a Level 2 EV charger. This item has heft- after I received the item and opened the package, I was gratified to see the sturdiness of the plug housing and the thickness of the cord. Even after 10 hours of charging an EV at 16A, this cord is cool to the touch. I've been using it for months with no issues. Highly recommended.

Used in conjunction with Level 2/Level 1 EV charger with a 6-15 plug to connect to a 14-50 RV hookup at the back of our house. Arrived as expected. Packaged well (light cardboard box in plastic outer bag, plastic prong protector inside to prevent prongs bending). Firm connections for both outlet and plug. Works as it should. Did not get hot. This combination allows us to forego any other charger installation utilizing what we already have in place. Would buy again.

We have a 220v outlet in our garage that was installed to charge our Tesla, and we recently acquired a Volvo XC60 SUV Recharge that comes with a 220v charging attachment that is incompatible with our 220v outlet. Our outlet is a very common type, like you would find for a dryer or other large appliance. The Volvo dealer and Volvo manual and customer support provided zero assistance in solving this problem. You would think they would realize what type of outlet Tesla owners are likely to have, but they were clueless. In fact, the Volvo manual warns against using ANY adapter. Thankfully, this adapter works perfectly. Excellent product.

We recently picked up an XC90 Recharge and I've already got a 14-50 amp circuit/plug installed in the garage for my Telsa. The 110v charging on the volvo usually would not be able to fully charge from when we got home at night to departing in the morning.At first I was thinking that maybe Volvo sold a charging cable piece to directly plug into the 14-50 socket like Tesla has but this is not needed.Volvo DO sell a charging cable that is used with the fully electric models (part #32257973) which does have the full fat 14-50 plug BUT, if you own a T8 Recharge model, this is a waste of money.You will not benefit at all from anything more than a 240 volt, 20 amp setup. It's internally limited and capped around 16 amps. My assumption is that the included cable is only good for a regular 110 outlet or a NEMA 6-20.

This was my 2nd order, I originally got the wrong one . My mistake. This will provide 220v to a welder, compressor, etc. I'noticed in reviews that customers complain it won't accept the plug they're trying to plug into it. They're most likely trying to plug in a 115v volt appliance or tool. Be very mindful and understand the principles of electric voltages when using these adapters. The prongs are oriented with one perpendicular to the other for a reason. Think safety
