Works great!
Just what I needed to be sure of what I was asking my mechanic to do. Told him the code and he went from there. Easy to use, affordable and efficient. Big screen is easy to read. Great product.

Inexpensive solution to get you OBDC codes.
It's probably the most inexpensive OBDC readers you can get. I used it for reading and clearing a check engine light issue on my 2014 Mercedes GLK 250. It worked like a charm. The vehicle info worked fine. Many of the real-time data that the reader is supposedly capable of handling displayed the result "na". I can't tell you if that's the readers issue or something related to my vehicle/manufacturer. I' would guess that if you really need some advanced diagnostic features you'll need a much more expensive device, and one specifically for your car/manufacturer. But as far as reading and clearing diagnostic codes this is a great inexpensive way to do that. A dealer would probably charge you $100 - $200 just to read the codes (I do know that's what BMW would charge you, albeit they might discount that if you have them perform the repair). So this is a very inexpensive and easy tool to use to understand the nature of the problem you car is reporting. The device gets its power it needs to run directly from the OBDC connector. If the device doesn't power on, you probably have a fuse problem (and that's not the reader's fault).

Great for non-mechanics. Easy to use and understand.
I’m buying a used car. Sadly some people are dishonest and will clear codes. This will show you if codes have been cleared. I did some research and this was rated the best scanner for non-mechanics. Some of the fancier scanners will give you a lot more information but it wont mean much to you if you’re not a car person. This is easy to use and works well. It’s been compatible with the cars I’ve looked at (Ford, Chevy, Hyundai, Toyota made in the last 10-12 years). It gives you enough information to know what the lights on your dash mean.I recommend this scanner. It’s a great tool to have around. Especially if you have an older car.

2017 Journey
Definitely helped me figure out what was wrong with my car. Cheap, but works. Checked the codes against a higher end model, and it was faster, and just as accurate.

Good price
Good Basic OBD2 Code Reader Engine Scanner for reading the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC). I got this scanner to use on my 2014 Ford Edge 3.5L The scanner shows me the code and a short definition for what the issue is. This scanner has saved me $$$ in repair shop cost. the scanner is quick and easy to use and at a good price for the (DTC) it can scan for. No battery's required. I keep it the car for when the check engine light comes on out on the road.

Worked like a charm! Identified the code and I was able to verify what the dealership told me. It was VERY cost effective!
