Trader Joe's SPA Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil 8.5 oz

I first encountered this facial wash when I was staying at a bed-and-breakfast a few weeks ago. I had left the brand I normally use at home, so on a whim I tried it. I was immediately surprised at how smooth and clear it made my face seem. Once I returned home, I ordered a bottle and have been using it since then. While I am fortunate that I rarely have acne, it can be an inconvenience when some does appear. I have noticed that any blemishes that have occurred since I started using this product have been smaller, disappeared faster, and were generally less painful than before.As for the product itself, the bottle is approximately the size of my hand. The liquid is composed primarily of castille soap, coconut oil, tall oil, potassium hydroxide, glycerin, and tea tree leaf oil. It has a distinctly slick feel to it, and if you press the nozzle, be prepared for it to nearly slip through your fingers. While I use it every morning in cold water, I think once every two or three days would achieve similar results for the normal user. It has a very slight smell (neither good nor bad) that dissipates quickly. Only a small amount is required for it to effectively foam and cover the whole of your face. While I will leave it to the individual user's discretion, I generally rub for roughly one minute in a circular motion over the entirety of my face and neck. During that time, the first few uses gave a very, very slight burn, but now I am used to it. Just this morning, I shaved and applied it immediately after with no pain appearing whatsoever. This is despite the fact I have sensitive skin and frequently suffer from razor burn. After I exit the shower and dry my face, I am always glad to see my face is clean and shiny.This product achieves its stated goal of keeping your face clean. My only complaint is I wish you received slightly more of the product for its purchase price, and that I wish it was slightly thicker so it could be controlled easier. However, this complaints are not sufficient to detract from the overall quality of the product. A highly recommended facial wash that quickly produced results.

I was pleasantly surprised by this cleanser. I tried out a new foundation that made my chin area BLOW UP with breakouts! I'm talking 10-15 little blemishes all around my mouth at the same time. My normal Dove beauty bar was no match for them. I decided to try a tea tree oil based product because I'd heard about how well it treats breakouts. Wow! After only two days the little bumps around my chin were no longer active breakouts and they started to fade, simply amazing. The smell is very unique and a bit strong but not too overpowering. It starts off kind of like an oil but really thin like water (so thin in fact that I think it should be a in foam cleanser pump because those start as liquid but when you pump it out it the dispenser turns it into foam) but then it turns into this soft lather that doesn't strip your skin. When you rinse it off, your face feels so squeaky clean, but not at all dry and tight like a lot of other cleansers. I can definitely feel it going deep into my pores; it's even helping to dissolve some of the sebaceous filaments on my nose which is awesome! I'm taking off one star because if you use something like a Clarisonic, a cleansing brush, or a wash cloth with it, it can burn and make the high points of your face very tender. So in that scenario, it isn't very gentle. But other than that, I really love this cleanser and will continue to use it and recommend it to anyone that is having trouble with breakouts.

There is a strong scent of tea tree oil that you won't be able to avoid, and that's not particularly a bad thing - but if you don't like the smell of tea tree oil (and I'm not fond of it at all) it will serve as an annoyance.As far as it goes for effectiveness, this product is pretty good for its price. You won't be seeing overnight changes like some of the products I've mixed with some pure tea tree oil, but the stuff is pretty good. It works nicely for acne, but especially with skin that is naturally oily - I gave this product to my friend with oily skin and it worked for her much better than it did for myself (I have pretty dry skin).This product dried my skin out a bit along with helping to get rid with acne, if you don't mind a little dry skin you'll be great. I have a suggestion if you have dry skin to make sure that this product won't cause an issue at all - IMMEDIATELY after you wash follow up with some cacao butter and rub it into your skin with the moisture from washing your face off. You'll be glowing in a matter of no time!I didn't get a check for this review, this is my honest opinion. I like the product, but for my purposes I would not purchase it again. However, I do recommend it for someone with an acne problem and oily skin that would benefit from the drying properties.

I have been using this product for over six months now and am immensely pleased with the results. I have adult acne (I am in my 40s) which flares up at certain times of the month, and I really did not want to take prescription acne medication. My sister recommended washing my face with a cleanser that had tea tree oil. I was impressed by the positive reviews here on Amazon, and decided to try Trader Joe's SPA Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil. It has a pleasant scent that is not overpowering, and just a little squirt goes a long way. First, I wash my face, and then I gently rub in the cleanser until it foams up and I wash it off.One thing to note is that this stings big time if it gets into your eyes - so there is need for some caution. Otherwise, this product has managed to keep my acne under control.

Cleans my face and leaves it feeling tingly and refreshed thanks to the tea tree oil! It's a watery product however so be aware of accidentally overusing and be careful when distributing it.

Feels nice on skin, not too irritating. Very liquidy and minimal foaming. Works well, the tea tree oil helps minimize acne. Good cleanser

Use to wash the inside of a freedom wig. Works great!

The product broke my skin out, i've used it for four weeks and only saw my skin getting worse. Do not recommend for dry/sensitive skin.
