Cameras were easy to install. The cable length is shorter than some of the runs we required but they are easy to substitute with Amazon network cable lengths. The controller is easy to setup and the software/interface is user friendly. The app was easy to install and initiate. The video feed looks great in low or full light. There are email alerts that are customizable for time of day, day of week, etc. The system is excellent

If you need a camera system for a remote location and will want review the video remotely (i.e. when you are still away from the site), stay far away from this. The cameras and recording hardware are all fine and seem to work properly but the software, specifically SwannView Link for Mac, is just garbage - it simply doesn't work.The scenario is that a neighbor emails you and says they saw someone snooping around your vacation place on Monday night so anxiously, you go to SwannView Link to check the video. The tool fires up fine and will display live images but when you try to bring up Monday's recordings, it will show perhaps 10 seconds of video from one camera, stop, and then never display any more video again. Attempting to view all cameras simultaneously is supposed to work but never does and has caused the app to hang. You can try to quit the app but at best, you'll get another 10 seconds. You can click on the Help menu item but it does nothing - literally nothing.Yes, this is the latest version (2.2.7.25 - December 2016) and the best I can say is that it doesn't crash as much as the last version. I have yet to find a setup guide or user's manual.I am so disappointed and almost angry about this product. It will be expensive and a hassle to replace it.If you have no need for the remote access review "capabilities" of this product, it might be fine for you. If you do need to remotely review video, try something else. I wish I had a suggestion for you or for myself.

I would have given at least four stars but somehow missed that the system needs a wired connection to your routter. I installed system at a detached garage 200 ft from house. The installation was easy, requiring ladder work only to install cameras. I used a wifi extender but the signal was too weak. Might work for a shorter distance. So I am in the process of installing a cable from garage to router in the house. Let me say, the camera inside the pitch black garage at night looks like daylight in there. The night vision is superb.. I realize installing wired cameras is not as easy as wireless, but the reliability and performance are worth it. Don't forget to hide your NVR so the burglars will be recorded even if they remove the cameras.

Great POE Camera System !!! Proprietary POE though, so don't forget that. One of my needs was to have all the cameras go into the NVR first and then my router. This is so that the limitations of my router do not interfere with the quality of the video. The camera video goes directly to the NVR first. The video is good and the NVR has some rapid review options. The other selling point for me, is that I wanted to connect POE via Cat5 cable (already installed to these areas). In addition it comes with an installed 2 T HDD for recording, on motion, that is months of recording.

I've had the older model POE Swann camera's. They were great. Picture was incredible, even at night with the infra red. These new PIR camera's can't hold a wick to the older models. Of course, you can't find the older model's at Swann anymore. I was able to find one on Amazon that was the old style. i don't understand these big companies. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Their customer service is like the guy telling the chick when she leaves in the morning, sure I'll call you again.

Seems to be well built, and so far no issues. The night time video is okay, daytime is perfect. Easy to install and use. Have not tried the motion sensor yet, system just records 24/7,

Installed this myself in a weekend. I did a completely hidden install. All wiring stapled in the attic, NVR mounted in another location with USB/HDMI/ETHERNET run through the wall so it's viewable on the TV. I used flush mounting plates and not just cables coming out of a hole. Installing them caused others in the neighborhood to look into their own kits. The app was pretty easy to set up but for some reason have only gotten it to work on our iphones, not the ipad.

I’ve had these installed for 4 years. Then I couldn’t view my cameras. The insanity began then. After many hours on the phone, the problem was still unresolved. They sent me link after link after link. My son suggested a new power supply so I did that. Over $40. Then Swann told me it was essential that I gat a dedicated monitor. I knew this was ridiculous but I did it anyway by bringing a tv in. dedicated monitor.Every time I’d call, they’d repeat the same thing. Of course my response is that I already did that. Then they started sending me emails to close the ticket.There a lot more stories about what happened on these calls. My son & I then worked many hours to resolve the issue. My son is in tech support and he finally resolved the issue. It had to do with a problem with the ports.This was so bad, I considered taking everything down and buying another brand. I have 5 cameras installed so you can see this is probably over $1000. What good were the swann cameras if I couldn’t view them?So plan a system failure in 4 years and plan on you having to resolve it.
