Best hot knife for uncapping honey comb. Made in the USA!
Absolutely the best hot knife I have used. It is sharp and the perfect temperature. Pierce designed this knife with a little raised triangle on top that causes the wax to roll off the knife. Excellent feature.Best of all, the knife is made right here in the USA.

Much bigger than expected—that is a good thing!
Bought this as a Father’s Day gift, so too early to speak about quality and ease of use. It appears to be well made, and has a good weight to it. It is much larger than I expected, which is a good thing! It came nicely packaged and with no visual defects. I will update this when we harvest the honey this year.

Cuts Like Butta'
Didn't get to use it until months after purchase so I held off with the review, but I have to say this uncapping knife is the best. Don't know how we would've done so well without it; made short work of the caps and really sped up the extraction process. Cuts through the caps like a hot knife through butter. Excellent product!

Does not stay hot enough!
I use this hot knife for the first time today. I bought what I thought was the Cadillac of knives. Let you take the hot first swipe but the honey cools the knife and it tears the comb out. Not what I was looking for! Don't waste your money!Update- 8-5-23 I called the company and Chris was very helpful. He told me how to adjust the temperature. Tried it again today after setting it and it was a little better. Still tearing comb when it cools off halfway through. Not a happy guy! I bought this thing so it wouldn't FU the comb.

Very high quality craftsmanship! Excellent knife!
This is the first electric uncapping knife I have used, and after looking a lots of reviews, I decided the best choice was to buy this one from Pierce Beekeeping Equipment. There are many others available, but they seem to have questionable construction and performance. This one is really amazing, heats quickly and uniformly, and is very easy to operate. Great device!
