These are beautiful, short, well-written biographies of important figures from ancient Greece. Perfect for our morning basket time. I would definitely recommend them to home-school families and plan to buy other books in this series.

Wide range of characters.

I would recommend this book for sitting and reading with your kids. Maybe take a section each night to read and discuss. If you home school, this is could also be a springboard for other learning activities, or maybe spark an interest in the works mentioned in the text, or trips to museums to see some of the art or similar pieces. I'm going to share this book with my grand kids. I have to say that I believe in exposing kids to the things that they will be learning in later years, because I believe that the exposure makes it easier for them to learn it when the time comes... So, with this book, they will be exposed to ancient history, art history, the idea of reading Homer's epic poetry, and philosophy. We will jump from there!

Excellent book, very well-paced for kids' attention span. It's easy to read, lots of engaging stories, and a good introduction to real history. I love that most of the illustrations are beautiful historical paintings, they really help the stories in the book come to life!

Great book fir my grandson

The book is perfect for Middle Schoolers who are studying Ancient Greece. It includes biographic information on key figures in Greek history such as philosophers. It is beautifully illustrated with Pre-Raphaelite artworks. The information is comprehensive without being overwhelming. It is well-researched and interesting to read. I would recommend it to students and teachers of Middle School. There are several books in the series.
