Easy install
Easy to install and it works. Replacing the mailbox is not an option, so this was my only option when the original handle gave outafter 25 years of service.

Perfect easy fix for broken mailbox latch
Simple mailbox with a stupid plastic latch was installed in our home at the time we purchased it. Between the Oklahoma wind, post-person delivery slamming the door, and hot summer sun , the latch broke within a year of use. Finding an all-metal latch here online was GREAT. It was easy to install, and seems to work flawlessly. I am very pleased with this upgrade... Good outcome!

Perfect Fit - But metal too weak
The hole pattern and geometry on the latch was a perfect fit for my older mailbox, but the gauge of the metal is too weak allowing the latch to bend and flex when opening the mailbox door. I am concerned that overtime the latch will break due to metal fatigue. The original latch on the mailbox was very stiff and was constructed from hardened steal, not easily flexed. We will see how long this latch holds up to the daily opening and closing.

Mailbox latch and Handle kit.
I don't know how old my mailbox is, but it is. The plastic handle and latch broke off, and I realized I had to do something about it. I waited for a warmer day. The screws and nuts are tiny and required washers to make them fit the holes pre-drilled in the mailbox. It took me probably 3/4 of an hour to install it. Fortunately, everything fit and has been tightened.

Well, screws/nuts are too small
I like that it's metal. The holes line up on a standard mailbox boor but the screws and nuts are too small.

Very thin metal.
Very thin metal. Would not fit holes in box where standard latch was removed. Did not want to drill extra holes where rain could get in box. Put original latch back on and bent it to work somewhat.

better than a plastic latch
I had a plastic latch that shattered. This is much better, though I could only use one bolt for the top part. The hole for the second bolt was not in the right location for my mailbox. If it was a bit longer and had 3 holes to chose from, it would work better for more mailboxes.
