Godzilla: History's Greatest Monster Paperback – April 29, 2014

This is a great book for all you Godzilla fans because it has 14 Monsters , every page has photos and some good characters and lots of exciting action scenes so I highly recommend it 😃. Why no listing or writing for Chapter 1? I only see Chapter 2 ?

Duane Swierczynski is my favorite living novelist and Godzilla my favorite movie franchise, so when I heard he wrote a Godzilla comic, you know I had to check it out. I had previously read his comic work on Marvel's Iron Fist and was very pleased but disappointed by his Cable series, so I walked in with only luke warm expectations.This isn't my favorite Godzilla comic by any stretch (check out Gangsters and Goliaths for that) but the action and story are well paced. The human elements are not boring and you never go too long without some action to break things up before it feels dull. My biggest gripe with the book was the author going out of his way to show one of the characters was gay, as that just felt like forced pandering to me and it added nothing to the story beyond general revenge for his loved one that died and happened to also be a guy. But as a fellow gay, I guess I should welcome the representation being presented respectfully and without any stereotypes. I guess normalization will always feel forced until it IS normal. That all being said, you get a ton of story for the price of admission and if you like the Big G, this collection will entertain. Still, this is nowhere near as thrilling as his actual mystery/crime fiction. But that's not really why your reading a Godzilla comic anyway... All in all, highly recommended to a Godzilla fan. Much better than IDW's first mainline Godzilla series, but nowhere near as fun as Rulers of Earth

First copy I ordered had the binding coming undone and finally falling apart as I made it to the end. Returned for a new copy and the new copy did the same thing immediately. Not thrilled with the quality of the spine, story is decent tho
