Excellent neck comfort, able to sleep on planes - but can be uncomfortably hot
I am sure every experience is different for every traveler, but this is the first travel pillow that has worked for me. I am tall and have constant neck pain, yet this allows me to comfortably rest and even sleep on flights. It does not depend on the back rest extending or not and I found it versatile and easy to travel with. The only word of caution is that it requires wrapping a fleece around your neck (and part of face) which is HOT! For me it was acceptable on flights with good air flow, but I couldn't use it while on the ground before the AC kicks in because of this. Likewise, I couldn't use it on trains because of the heat. I think there is aa lightweight version. I wish I'd found that first and recommend that if you are prone to run hot. It's too expensive to buy a second one though....although I'm really considering it.

Great with a tweak
Just used this flying to Vietnam and back (3 days of travel time). From a 5'9" guy's point of view who has what I think is a normal length neck and not perfectly broad shoulders.I wanted to give this a three star but gave it four because I will use it again as well as my wife, all of the other product alternatives are so terrible, and with 10 of us on this last trip I have tried nearly all of the top sellers except the j pillow.Pro's: small, very light, soft, washable!, keeps mouth from hanging open, doesn't push your head forward like a horseshoe/memory foam/micro bead pillow (no matter how thin they claim to be they still do), doesn't slowly deflate/compress like a horseshoe/memory foam/micro bead pillow, not hot on an airplane but still warm, good in in side and front positions with tweak.Con's: It needs to be tweaked... simply took the folded airplane blanket and placed it between my shoulder and Trtl to give it more height for my neck. Without this adjustment my neck was borderline leaning further then I was comfortable, worked better for my wife who's 5'5". I personally think this would be an unmatched product if it came in different sizes AND they bend was made to be a little straighter then 90 degrees. When my shoulder slopes down and it compresses slightly it is uncomfortable until I raise it up with a blanket. Out of the box I believe this is made for someone 5'5" or smaller.Other people's findings: Some people put the scarf across their nose and mouth to block outside germs... I found this to be uncomfortable with all that hot breath and my nose is already built to filter since this held my mouth shut. Some were upset that they can't perfectly wear their large noise canceling headphones... I have them and no it wasn't perfect but worked and it would practically impossible to get enough support to hold your head up if the device didn't come up higher on the side by your ear.Bottom line is the tweak was minor and I'd buy it again because it the best option out there even with it's issues. It could greatly benefit from coming in different sizes.

Worth every penny and I actually slept using it!!
Best purchase ever! I have never been able to sleep on flights or in cars very well. I've tried the typical airplane u shaped pillows to no success. But this was AMAZING!!! I was actually able to sleep on a plane while using it!! It gives great support and comfort and doesn't feel like I'm being strangled at all! I traveled internationally with it and was able to sleep and land feeling rested and without pillow face!! It doesn't take up much room and was super soft and cozy!! I've used it in a car and on planes and it was amazing!! Worth every penny!!!!!!

A Struggle Between Comfort and Circulation
I wanted to love the Trtl Travel Pillow. really, I did. The promise of a scientifically engineered, ultra-supportive neck brace (sorry, “pillow”) that would finally allow me to sleep on a plane without waking up feeling like I lost a fight with the overhead bin was too good to pass up.Unfortunately, after several flights of dedicated testing, I can confidently say this: if you enjoy the sensation of being in a very mild, travel-sized guillotine, this is the product for you.The “Support” DilemmaThe concept is clever. You wrap it around your neck, lean into the hidden support, and drift off into blissful, ergonomic slumber. The reality? The only way this thing provides any meaningful support is if you cinch it so tightly that you start questioning your blood flow situation. At optimal “support” level, I found myself teetering between “mildly uncomfortable” and “Is this what a giraffe feels like in a turtleneck?”If you loosen it even slightly, it becomes a $60 piece of fabric wrapped around your neck for no reason at all. And if you tighten it enough to actually hold your head up, congratulations! You now have a built-in pulse-checking device because your body will let you know very quickly when your carotid artery has had enough.In-Flight PerformanceMy hope was to finally achieve that elusive, graceful plane nap. Instead, I spent most of my flight adjusting, readjusting, and questioning my life choices as my seat neighbor side-eyed my increasingly desperate attempts to make it work. The “lean and sleep” motion they advertise? More like “lean, start losing feeling in your jaw, panic, readjust, repeat.”The VerdictFor those with an iron will, a tolerance for slight oxygen deprivation, and perhaps a slimmer neck than mine, this might work. For the rest of us? Save your money and go back to the classic awkward head-tilt-against-the-window method or invest in a real neck pillow. Or better yet, just accept that air travel is inherently uncomfortable and move on.Final Rating: 2/5 Stars – Points for innovation, deducted for it being a personal tourniquet for the worst possible location
