The Gretsch G6199 Billy-Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Electric Guitar, designed by Bo Diddley and modified by Billy F. Gibbons, features a heavily chambered mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck, and ultra-thin laminate maple top. It is equipped with TV Jones Power'Tron pickups and includes a pinned Adjusto-matic bridge and Schaller Straplocks, all packaged in a protective case.

A GREAT playing guitar, sold at custom prices BUT made in Japan!
It seems as though everyone wants a Billy-Bo....likely because it originally was made for Bo Diddley who gave an original to Billy Gibbons of ZZ geti-up....A typical Gretsch, it plays well, stays in tune and has a robust, hearty tone. Made in Japan! MSRP is reported to be in the 3,800 range which is custom, domestic pricing and discounted down to $2,695....Problem is, it stays in perpetual backorder...I love this guitar and recommend it for pros who want to improve their sound....It dresses well even if you do not have a long beard. If you can get one,. try it first then buy...comes with a hardshell case which is beer can proof for those gigs in saloons which have no chicken wire protection! ...wish it came in other colors...
