Great for ramen. And my cats love it too!

I originally thought this would be too large of a bag, and that it would get stale, but the seal on the bag is good. The product flakes are large, and a little goes a long way. I don't think these are "good" for the cats, but very few snacks on the market are "good" for the cats, so keep the amount offered down to one or two flakes, and it should not be a problem. Be prepared for your cat to attack you, however. One of my cats tried to tear the bag out of my hands and growled at his brother...they are like your favorite chips...one is not enough. Too many though, and I had a barf. Great quality for cooking! Great treat for cats. Price is great and quality very good.

This is the usual brand I buy at my local Asian market, but I was running low at home and didn't want to drive 30 minutes just to get this. While the price is higher here on Amazon, I was thrilled that the expiration date was just as good as what I get from my store. I feed this mainly to one of my senior cats as a treat. She eats a plateful per day. I also use it for okonomiyaki and some soups. Excellent flavor and just the color itself really pops.

Quite smoky taste and the Flake are a bit large. Still trying to find the right foods to add to!

The flavor of these skipjack flakes is incredible, very smoky with a fresh taste! Excellent for making homemade soup bases such as dashi. What I like about it is that while it has such good flavor and scent it does not overtake the entire taste of the dish, it remains a mild flavor that compliments the entire dish Flakes can be saved and reused again for other dishes. I typically will puree the used, cooked flakes and give them to my two cats who also enjoy this product. For food safety (since it's a fish product) and to preserve freshness I tend to store them in the freezer after opening.

When I write a review or talk about something that is the best and perfect for my use I cannot shut up, then there are times I allow the other, longer reviews to do the talking and all I can add is that these are the best bonito flakes on Amazon. The Best. There are none better. Buy these, no need to use a lot and since they are so light it is tempting to use more but remember that these are dried large flake bonito. Treat your body and taste buds right, buy these bonito flakes.

I've never seen cats come running up to me until they had tasted this product. When they see me bring the bag out now, they all come running, line up, and chow down. Truly worth the money to make my 'kids' happy.
