A Must Have!
When i look for B Monster movies I typically look for "Genetic mutation or Engineering" that makes the average animal something monstrous, This movie REALLY delivers with all the B Monster movie thrills of sometimes downright "Silly" monster attacks and scenes. The animation is what you would expect in a Sci Fi Original and also the "acting" is fun to watch.LOVED this movie and its a nice addition to my B Monster Movie Collection.

Not very bad
If you are like really really starving for a b-creature-feature movie then watch it. Its hard to make out in the whole movie what that creature really looked like!! its ok. When a police and arrogant mayor is involved i somehow like it!

Gift for the Wife
As I have stated in other reviews, my Wife loves monster movies. This is a typical one that has bad acting and bad direction, but if you like monsters, it is worth watching.

Misrepresentation of Facts
The snakehead "invasion" in Maryland is the species Channa Argus or Northern Snakehead. The reason the Northern Snakehead is "invasive" is because it is able to over winter in freezing water temperatures. This is the only snakehead that is able to survive in freezing water. They do not get as big as the Red Snakehead or Giant Snakehead. In the beginning of the movie, there is a part of a newscast that mentions "there are no known predators against the snakeheads"... NOTE: ANY baby fish is food for the bigger fish. That means that the bass, the blue gills and whatever else fish that lives in the lake will eat the babies of the snakehead, even if they are protected by the mother. FISH are naturally voracious and predatory. So to proclaim that there are no known predators is a not true. Also, although snakeheads can slither in land, they must be kept damp, wet... in order to slide from side to side. If the ground becomes dry, the fish will start to get dry dirt attached to it's skin that it will eventually suffocate and die. How do I know this ? I was born in a country where this fish came from and known this fish since child hood. Observed it many times in their own natural habitat. Although I have never encountered a three (3) foot snakehead, I have seen some that is about 18 inches. And they are as scared of humans just like other animals. They do not attack humans, more like they would take off to avoid contact. Along with snakeheads in the lake, there are also Tilapia, perch, catfish, and angel fish, and gouramis... so I do not understand why scientist are threatened by the presence of this fish. In fact, some friends I know in Maryland enjoy catching this fish via lures and bait. The fight is better than bass. As for the taste, the meat is white and flaky.. and very tender. I would love to have this fish in my possession again but I doubt it will ever be listened to and allowed.

Excited!
I love science fiction movies. Man vs. the unknown or man vs. man's tampering mistakes. Then man has to undo the error. They are real exciting!!!

No Basis in Reality
This has been on the Sci Fi channel a number of times and each time that I watch it I find it hilarious. The producers of the film took a real story from Maryland and created this incredible, over the top movie which in my mind is a parody of actual events. How you can change a sub division retention pond into a mountain lake, the bad guys transporting containers marked HGH (Human Growth Hormones) in huge letters (seemed they were getting the institutional size from Sam's Club) and the complete lack of knowledge exibited by the script writers concerning, biology, geography and fisheries is so horrible that it is funny. And the characters, you have Bruce Boxleitner as the sheriff, and Carol Alt as the fisheries biologist (very striking in her hip boots and her big electric gun (used to combat the northern pike invasion in another body of water). The movie is very entertaining but has absolutely no basis in reality. I probably will purchase this when the price comes down under $10.

Big toothy fish chasing around people, much belief suspension required.
Very formula, with dubious casting. I had some hopes to enjoy owning it, but will not be watching it enough times to make the purchase a good economical move.

Creature del terrore (Snakehead Terror). DVD.
