Birds of Florida Field Guide (Bird Identification Guides)

A great little book for beginners. It is bound between vinyl covers that make it a bit more durable, pages have a good thickness, a nice layout with the color code feature that makes looking up any bird quickly based on the prominent colors of the bird, and it is in between pocket size/standard size. For visual reference about the size of an average adult hand. The photography throughout the book is vibrant and you are able to see details clearly. There is also standard info plus notes/facts on each bird. I would even say this book could be for older children who aren’t interested in the kid style activity books. There were a few of these kind of books to choose from but all of them lacked pictures of the actual book which made it a bit hard to choose between them. There may be a better one but I am just a beginner so this one seems quite good quality for the price. Happy with this purchase!

Bought this book for my father. I have had one for several years. Beautiful illustrations and accurate descriptions. A must for birding in Florida for all level birders.

This book was bought for my Mother who has a large pond in her backyard. She needed help in correctly identifying bird species and what they like to eat and all info she could get. She is enjoying the color coding of the book and the ease of identifying her backyard family as she refers to them.

I have both the Georgia and Florida versions of this book. I also have the eBooks on my phone. Overall, the way the book is formatted is very easy to use and functional. The information is great and it is organized by primary bird color.I gave four stars because it is missing some birds and a few of the pictures could have represented the species much better. That being said, the Florida and Georgia versions of this book are the only ones in my vest pocket when I'm out birding. It is a really good birding book.Note to the author: Please include the Black Bellied Whistling Duck in the next version.

I like this little book. It is packed with great photos. Gives details about both adults and the young. I sit on my patio and watch the birds at the feeders and look them up to determine what they are.

This is an all comprehensive book of birds in the state of Florida. Straight forward descriptions with detailed, quality pictures of each species.

The media could not be loaded. I was originally worried about the size of the book as I bought this as a gift for by boyfriend since I noticed he started to be more interested in the birds visiting our yard (we moved from a condo to a house recently). The size is perfect because he takes it with him when he sits outside. The pictures are vibrant and it's easy to look through and find the birds he sees. He had the book out when my parents came to visit and both my parents liked the book - who knew this little thing would be such a hit? Totally recommend
