Perfect in every way
I had an oval can from better homes and gardens. The dust and nastiness that constantly accumulated around the rim of the can, the inner liner and the inside part of the lid, was incredibly frustrating and so unsightly. And the trash bag kept getting caught when removing it or falling. With this trashcan: no more dirty rims or lid even after a whole week of trash. The very clever design is smooth and tilted preventing anything staying there and if you spill something it is super easy to wipe off. No edge of the inner liner rim is exposed so the trash bag covers it completely from spills and soil. The rectangular shape makes it easier to dispose large pieces of trash and the accurate inner liner size secures the trash bag perfectly with no sliding or snagging issues. Btw, any 13 glln trash bag will work. The actual trash can is totally enclosed also, so there is a double protection from spills to your floors and a added control of any trash odor escaping. No trash more odors! The lid closes quietly and smoothy and there is a little red latch inside the can to keep the lid open for a few seconds; then it slowly retracts down on its own. Is it solidly constructed and amazingly attractive. The grafite color is very complimentary to black stainless appliances. The packaging is excellent and it arrives in two cardboard boxes with the inner one very reinforced, with additional upper and lower cardboard protectors. No dents! It is priced extremely well especially for the quality, functionality and beauty. It looks much more expensive! Bravo Rubbermaid, you hands-down created a better trash can than any other brand including the overpriced, inconvenient simple human and believe me I looked for a long time!

Great Trash Can - Good price for quality!
I was debating buying this trashcan because of how expensive it seemed. However, if you look around at other trash cans, many of them are similarly priced and don't look as nice. I like that it is the size of standard trash bags (it's annoying when trash cans are smaller than standard kitchen trash bags). The color is great and it doesn't seem to show fingerprints. It does show dust, but that's easy to take care of. My one "complaint" is that I feel like it scratches fairly easy - but I feel like that's the risk with anything that stainless steel or appears stainless steel. It has a liner that makes it really easy to clean and replace the bags. The lid has a locking feature that is super easy to use. 10/10 recommend.

Hands free to dispose & Seals odors better.
The design function works well overall, but I don’t know the number of cycles the lift mechanism was engineered for. I know it’s a known name but my suggestion is don’t use a heavy foot when possible. Speaking of lift, when the (lid/door) goes upward and if you do use a heavy foot, most counters have a lip that this door will hit when it goes up which will dent it with continuous use. (A soft insulation foam adhesive strip attached to the counter lip bottom edge may help here if you have kids if it concerns you) -> If your layout permits this to be next to a wall and not a counter, this should NOT be a problem, but now you know. Also, sliding the red tab over to keep the lid in the vertical open position, (which is a bit tight new and hopefully loosens up later) the can will need to be moved away from the counter lip overhang by however many inches, not a complaint but an observation, (again, only if using it next to a counter and not a wall ).The 13Gal bag installs easier and fits better at the top fold over point of the inner bin (IMO) since you don’t have a clunky large plastic rim most trash cans are made of today. And since it is a bin inside a can, your fill capacity may drop just a little bit due to size design, but then again your not going to overfill it now since you want that door to close as intended. Also, the trash seems to stay rectangular when removed but it still depends on the looseness of the material you put in.You’ll know more of the odors are contained when you open it because they will be stronger fromnot seeping into the air as easily, a good thing. The metal finish looks nice (IMO) and wraps completely around the unit without a false back as some use. I just use window cleaner & rag to wipe it occasionally on the finish. Inside, I double bag for any leaking, and if penetration happens just wipe away with a wetted paper towel of your preferred germ killer formula if ever.So yes I definitely like how it functions overall with the intent to keep my hands off the surfaces. Great for keeping nosy dogs out of the trash
I'm not cheap & I DO like nice things but I NEVER thought I'd spend $100 on a garbage can. We have a 4 month old whippet puppy & a 5 yr old Italian Greyhound who never got into the trash til the puppy came along. I looked at another can on Amazon for half the price but the reviews were terrible. I have black kitchen appliances & a black stainless fridge & this can matches perfectly & smudges wipe off nicely. No more dumpster diving for my dogs so even at $100, it's money well spent for no more doggy drama. Wish I jad bought this year's ago cuz my hubby hated our other trash can. I told him it's a combo Father's day/ Anniversary gift 😉. Well made, looks & works great, you DO get what you pay for. It says it's a 12 gallon can & I'm using 13 gallon hefty bags in it.

Almost A 10
Very nice looking and well made. The lock feature is a little funky, you just push this little red tab over inside the lid and keeps it up. Doesn't seem very sturdy but so far no issues. The only thing I'm concerned with is the fact that you absolutely cannot open the lid without the foot pedal so if the foot pedal stops working for some reason, you can't continue to use it manually because there is no way to get the lid open. Hope that never happens but our last one did that and we used it by manually lifting the lid until we bought a new one. Otherwise, it's a great trashcan!
