It's not perfect, but for the money, it's a fantastic rug.Like others say, it sheds quite a bit, at least at first. We've been vacuuming it every day, and every day it produces less loose material. And although someone commented that it was like having a cat around, I haven't found it that bad. A little wool on the couch, but not so much that a quick cleaning or brush-off won't work.As for the rug itself, it's pretty close to perfect. We wanted a rug made from natural materials, and it being handmade is a nice touch, as far as I'm concerned.The thickness is right for me, cushioning but not super-plush, or anything like a shag rug. You'll remember it's a rug, not a padded-out carpet, but for me, that's the whole point! The color is great, and the best part? It really doesn't need a rug pad, at least on our floor. It has just enough grip to not slide around, but not so much that I think it would wear unusually quickly.I'd definitely but more Safavieh products, and if the need arises, they'll be my go-to company.

I love this rug but have a few gripes. The dark gray rug is truly a blue. I knew this going into it and was ok with it as I like dark blue and needed a long wool rug that is good quality. Do NOT expect a gray rug. The cream/white decorative part is elevated compared to the dark part and so it is not level when you walk on it. Really bothered me at first but I’m ok with it now. The rug does shed as it is wool. I can see it everyday on my dark hardwood next to the rug and I have to sweep it as the wool shedding is so light the vacuum blows it away before it sucks it up. I’m hoping it will stop shedding eventually but it’s been a few months and it still sheds.All of my guests compliment the runner and ask where I got it. And they’re shocked at the reasonable price for a fairly heavy duty rug.

We have a twentyfwo foot entrance hallway in our new home. It passes by the entrance to the two additional bedrooms and the second full bath on the right. The whole house is tiled with eighteen inch squares. We love our cats, but are very practical too. The area rugs were the way to go. The long runner was the last of the rugs we were to purchase. We are thrilled with the value for the dollar. The shipping was great, on time, and without any incident whatsoever. The rug went down on it's runner and now sits there proudly adding to the beauty and warmth of the new home. Here's a tip ..... Be prepared to vacuum one of these rungs three full times at least, before expecting that they are ready to sit and serve. I have a bagless Hoover. I filled up the cannister THREE full times before I was adequately satisfied that the rug could go without another cleaning. The value for the dollar is fantastic. I have been with Amazon for MANY years. This has been one wonderful purchase. There will be more.

My rug is 2 inches shorter than 9 feet, which I took off one star for. I ordered the silver/cream color, and it definately is more of a purple gray. There are many tiny stray colored thread/straw/burlap? pieces that I have been cutting out for the past couple of days. Pulling them out did not damage the rug, but I prefer to cut them, because they really are tiny, single fibers. The rug is comfortable and really pretty. It does have a wool rug smell that I expect to fade over time. The cream parts of the rug have some color variation, with a darker color running through it in spots. This is likely what had been described as "dirty looking" by other reviewers. This did not bother me at all. I would purchase this item again.

This rug shipped on time and looks just like the picture, however, when I got it there a few stains, some color flaws, snags and the rug was loaded with fuzzies. I vacuumed the front and back of the rug for several hours before placing it in my living room but the fuzzies are not going away. THIS RUG SHEDS LIKE CRAZY. Its giving my house a new form of dust, called rug fuzz. My hardwood floor that it sits on and my couch are loaded with rug fuzz on a daily. My blankets, couch, floors, pillows and kids are filled with rug fuzz daily that I find my self vacuuming 2-3 times a day to remove the fuzz. I read a previous review on this rug that said the rug would need a good vacuum when it first arrives but this is an understatement. If you buy this rug, it's beautiful and durable however, it's SUPER HIGH MAINTENANCE. Plan to vacuum often and accept a constant fuzz on your floors, couch, pillows or anything that touches the rug. I get piles of rug fuzz at the seams of my tile and hardwood, all over the kids toys, the kids cloths, etc. I stay at home too and I spend a ton my time vacuuming this rug. Maybe the rug i got was flawed and I plan to submit to the seller my concerns but i wouldn't recommend this rug for the fuzz factor even though it looks nice after i vacuum it, I still wouldn't buy it again knowing how badly it sheds.

I bought this rug because I prefer natural fibers. I read the reviews about its shedding especially if you try to vacuum it with a rug tool. Very true. I only needed it short term for a transitional space. I didn't walk on it with shoes and used a soft broom to sweep it rather than vacuuming. The edges became dingy quickly and remained that way despite various attempts on my part to use gentle cleaners to lift the dirt. Overall, it served my purpose and lasted longer than I expected it to based on reviews. Since I bought at a very low sale price, I'm happy with my purchase and would buy again under similar circumstances.

Nicely Made in India.Do not use a vacuum beater bar on any wool rug, or you will know the fibers off, creating shedding. Just use suction. Keep out of the direct sunlight for color retention over the years.Blot up spills right away. Don't push down and scrub, just blot. Use cold water and mild detergent right away to prevent the stain from setting.If you take care of this rug, it will last for decades. Naturally water and humidity repellent wool will discourages mildew. Still, keep it as dry as possible for longevity.Love It!

Love this rug. I've also bought the little stool that is in the image and they go perfectly. The rug is good quality and durable. Just my cat ripping it up with her claws is a problem. Picture updated with a photo 2 years on-rug still going strong despite the cats!

This area rug is exactly what I wanted! The colour is perfect! It was shipped & arrived in a timely manner. Packaging was good, The rug rolled out & laid flat immediately! :) There are some loose fibre mainly from the ivory section (which is raised over the blue). but a quick vacuum took care of this. Very pleased with my purchase :) Both my kiddo & pup are happy to having something softer than our hardwood
