My wife and I are thrilled with this book. We loved the Old Trieste Restaurant, its fabulous menu, and great ambience. We loved the host and owner, Larry Tomicich, even more.Although we were quite sad to see the restaurant close, we were happy that Larry was able to conclude his long career as a restaurateur on his own terms. This book feels to us like a wonderful farewell gift from Larry, his family, and co-workers.The work itself is a nicely composed collection of the restaurant’s famous recipes, interspersed with vignettes about the restaurant’s history as well as photographs that will elicit fond memories for the Trieste’s old regulars. We are looking forward to the challenge of reproducing the escarole soup and “Scampi Trieste” in our own kitchen!A must-have for anyone who remembers the Old Trieste Restaurant.
