Moda All-Stars All in a Row: 24 Row-by-Row Quilt Designs

How humble of Moda to not broadcast very blatantly that they are donating all royalties from All in a Row to No Kid Hungry. Nice!Whimsical, seasonal, child-appropriate, primitive, romantic, classic traditional, appliqued, embroidered, curved ... When 24 Moda designers come together, we all benefit. I was worried there might be too much "juvenile" content, but there is not. All the rows look great on their own, but they are easily customizable. And not just in length. It will be fun to design your own medley of rows.Nothing is too challenging here in terms of techniques. Plus, there is no risk of feeling overwhelmed by a huge project. Think of all the gifts you'll be able to actually finish. No more wrapping up an in-progress quilt with a nice box and an abashed apology and an ardent promise. On this scale, you can practice improving your hand quilting and not even get a cramp. Alternatively there are no worries about how to stuff a monster textile sandwich under the short arm of your domestic sewing machine.Excellent close-up photos show great detail and lovely ideas for quilting lines.My only wish is that All in a Row did not end so abruptly. There's just 1 page of tribute to all the designers, and I missed it the first few times because it's tacked onto the back of the last page of the final project.Very classy of Moda to donate all the royalties and not even mention that on the Amazon page for All in a Row. (At the time 9f writing this, that is.)

To be quite honest, I nearly did not buy this book as I have so many, did I really need another. Then I noticed that all proceeds go to a children, I didn't need an excuse to why not. Well it is really a fabulous book both in patterns and instructions, but most of all I love the chatty way it's written, it is one of the few quilt books I read from start to finish. I may not use all the patterns but it certainly opened my mind to the concept of rows. A bit like sampler block except in row with more freedom to make it your own. Do buy it and feel good about the children you will be helping..

Fun book concept, great row quilt mix and match design collection, and all for charity. I've always thought the "Moda" fabric designers were better at designing quilts than they were at designing fabric and I think it really shows in this book. I don't really like Moda fabric because most of their designers are famous quilt makers but not very many with a degree in textile design if you know what I mean, but in this case, their talents really shine and its all for charity too which is a nice thing. Excellent instructions. Funky little design gallery in the middle, other than that, great book.

What a great little book! Packaged nicely so that it didn't get damaged. Can't wait to start sewing some of these projects.

Excited to make several rows from this book, especially the bunny row. Love the quilts in this book & all the ideas that began roaming throughout my head as I was browsing through it. The patterns and instructions appear to be easy to use/follow, but I haven't tried any as of yet. I'm excited to add this to my Quilting Library for future quilts.

So much fun!! This book is so creative, I'm loving throwing all these rows together and seeing this quilt materialize before my very eyes! It's a great scrap buster and all the measurements have come out accurate. I've seen loads of quilts posted on the web made from this book and they are all beautiful and creative.The appliqué patterns are accurate and the instructions are very clear. I've also been inspired to create rows myself to put my signature on this very lovely quilt. Have fun!

Another great Moda all stars all in a row book. These books have fantastic patterns in them with clear, concise, easy to understand instructions. The book itself is of excellent quality. I would highly recommend this book.

Excellent book... great idea and wonderful idea to donate the proceeds to charity.BUT if like me you have a first edition you will either have to visit the web site for 12 pages of corrections, due to the pre-corrected version being sent to the printers.The publisher has offered to replace the book if you rip out the front page with edition number,and send to them with your name and address, but not available until June or July.I can't find out if Amazon will also replace the bookPLEASE CHECK YOUR COPY BEFORE YOU CUT FABRIC
