for something different. Mild flavor, great texture, versatile. Soft peel back lid
Goodness this exceeds my expectations. Season makes some excellent products, so I am not surprised that this mackerel is so good. So much better than other canned mackerel. I dont eat a lot of canned fish, but I try to keep a variety of foods in my pantry. I do enjoy the occasional sardine, and less often mackerel. I usually buy sardines from Season, so when I saw this mackerel in the warehouse I decided to give it a try. Glad I did, it is delicious.Mild taste, pleasant mild aroma. Little less fishy than sardines. Really easy to eat. I added it on top of some healthy lupini bean pasta and just gobble it up. I just dump the contents fish and all right on top of the pasta. It's so good. Easy to eat direct from can, or add to salad, or mash up a little to make a sandwich (like a tuna sandwich).Well packaged, and I was surprised to see such a long best by date (12/2024) for something i bought from the warehouse.I'm happy, and wouldnt hesitate to buy it again.

Season mackerel
Well, I'm trying to stock up on items I like for winter since I'm often shut in until my yard gets cleaned up from the snow accumulation. But I have to test a product before I order more and tried my first tin of Season mackerel. It is definitely pricey, but a superb product! I was amazed and really pleased with the contents. Not only was the tin packed solid with excellent flavorful fillets, but if there were two teaspoons of oil in it, that might even be an overstatement. I didn't measure it, but it hardly made a tiny puddle. I was also amazed it didn't have as strong a fish odor as the other brand I purchased. That especially amazed me since I frankly didn't know that much about mackerel and thought all brands would be quite pungent. Not so Season!! Actually, this is a very "rich" fish and I had a hard time finishing the last 3/4 of an inch of the fillets. It is very filling, but you won't want to waste a single molecule.

Mackerel is good
Bought on spur of moment. Turned out to be a good choice. Good quality and good options for fish cakes. I will buy it again.

Just Mackerel
No olive oil, no added salt. Just mackerel. You get to do your own customizing. That's a good thing.

Mild flavor-great if you don’t like fish
I am not a fish eater. Don’t like the taste, don’t like the smell. I’ve gradually been making peace with it due to food allergies that have excluded a lot of traditional meats, as well as being on a four day rotation diet due to said allergies.I was getting mackerel in olive oil from Wild Planet, then found out I’m allergic to olives. When I order their version of mackerel in water, I was repulsed by it. Two giant hunks of fish with the bones and skin on. If you don’t like fish, skin left on is not going to make you like it more. It significantly increases the stink and the fish taste. So I looked for an alternative and was happy to find this! The flavor is mild and not repulsive. That’s a really high compliment from a non-fish eater.
