CliffsComplete Shakespeare's King Lear 2nd Edition

This book filled the requirements of Highschool English and was available when the book stores are sold out. I had purchased a different version at the start of the school year but that was rejected by the teacher. Apparently there are different “king Lear “by Shakespeare. I still don’t understand how that is possible.

You need this to understand anything !Its absolutely amazing, one side is the shakespear version, the other has a simplified version of what he is trying to say.A muuuust !!

King Lear was made easier to read with the commentary. Clarification of old English words was very healpful. With these aids, it made reading of this classic and enjoyable experience.

Cliffs Complete are a great version of Shakespeare to study. There are side notes and Summaries in each chapter as well as visual charts at the beginning to understand the characters and how they are related. The shaded summaries used to be blue, which was easier to see. Now they are gray—a cut in printing costs. Harder to see. The side notes are in tiny writing. I wish the print was larger. I use a magnifier to read them.

Shakespeare no easy to understand to begin with :)so for High schooler this is perfect for filling in the gaps!

Brilliant format, with good summaries and footnotes. Excellent for A2 English Students . Large size permits annotations and note taking .10/10
