Celtic Thunder

I know that this CD has been criticized for several reasons. 1)It is not the original group called Celtic Thunder. I am not familiar with the other Celtic Thunder (and it does seem that this group could have been more original with their title!) but their title has nothing to do with their music. As long as you know that you are not buying a CD ofthe old groups music, their title should not influence your opinion of the actual music on this CD.2) It doesn't have all of the songs from the concert on it. If you think about it, if they put every song that was in the concert on one tiny CD (it would probably take two actually...) it would be very, very long! I was disappointed about the loss of some of the songs, but as someone else mentioned they will be coming out with a second CD later this year that will have all the missing songs on it. Until then there is always the DVD version!3) It has some pop type songs such as "Desperado" on it. I really like the mixture of music. There is no rock music or anything of that sort, just some modern songs. I am not a real die hard fan of Celtic music like some people are, but I felt that the music had enough of a Celtic flare to it. Just know that all of the songs are not traditional Irish melodies before you buy!Now, for my opinion of the music itself. The five men that perform here are all really talented. They all bring something different to the show.Damian McGinty was only 14 yrs. old when this was recorded (he's 15 now) and his voice is just incredible. He sings two solos on this CD, "Come By the Hills" and "Puppy Love." He does a great job with both of these and "Come By the Hills" is as gorgeous as "Puppy Love" is fun.Keith Harkin sings the songs "The Mountains of Mourne", "The Island", and "Lauren and I". He has a nice voice. It seems a little weaker than the other guys voices to me (I'm no expert though), but it is still really good. "The Mountains of Mourne" and "Lauren and I" are great, really pretty songs, but I really don't care for "The Island". This is just a matter of taste though. I am sure that there are people who love "The Island".Paul Byrom sings "Remember Me" and "She". He has a very well trained sounding voice that has a slightly operatic quality. It is very pleasant to listen too and he sings his songs very well. Both "Remember Me" and "She" are love songs (kind of obvious by their titles huh?) and are very well suited to his voice. I love them both.Ryan Kelly sings "Desperado" and "Brothers In Arms". These two songs are my favorite of the whole CD. Ryan Kelly has a rougher sounding, less classical sounding voice. Maybe you could call it more emotional of a voice. I really don't know, but it is great anyway! Both of his songs very well done.And last but not least there is George Donaldson. He has a deeper, more mature voice (probably because he's 40 and the oldest of the group!). He sings "The Voyage" and "The Old Man". "The Voyage" is a song about marriage. It presents marriage as being like a ocean voyage that takes hard work to maintain. This song is also one of my favorites because it has a great message to it. And it's sweet. "The Old Man" is about a son talking about his father who has just passed away. It is also beautiful. He sings is with such emotion that you can't help but feel sorrowful too.The rest of the songs on the CD include "Heartland", "Steal Away", and "Ireland's Call". These are all group songs and it's great to hear all of their voices combined. Obviously, I like this CD and highly recommend it. Hope I helped!!

There are plenty of songs on you tube if you have never heard them before. They are a group of men and each one has a beautiful voice and is great at what they do.The first time I heard them sing was when they were on PBS and I was clicking through the channels on the tv - but I stopped as soon as I heard them sing. I have been a devoted fan since that first song. They have never disappointed me. When you see them live or watch a DVD, you'll notice that the audience is from the young to the old and all points in-between.I love the sound of their songs, I love the song selection, I love the production of each number ... they are just awesome.If you have heard them before, you know you won't be disappointed with any of their CDs or DVDs. If you have never heard them before, check them out and listen to a little clip or watch something on you tube - you won't be disappointed. Then pick anything they have done and you will find yourself smiling or singing along ... or there may be a song or two that will bring a tear to your eye because it touched you.This group never disappoints.

I received my CD on the date I was informed it would arrive and the product was in excellent condition although it was sold as used in Good Condition. Minor scratches on the jacket cover but CD and jacket was in excellent condition. Thank you.

Celtic Thunder is an amazing group of solo artists who each have wonderful voices. They each bring their own talents and personalities to the songs and they perform. Keith Harkin wrote and sings "Lauren and I", a beautiful and original song. Keith is an amazing, talented performer who composes, sings and plays guitar. Keith's guitar playing is excellent and he puts lots of emotion and feeling into each song he performs. Keep watching for Keith in the future! He is an upcoming artist and I hope he will be able to put a solo CD out in the future. I recommend buying Lauren and I and all of Keith's songs. Damian, Paul, Ryan,and George all have their fantastic vocal talents and personalities they bring to the show. All 5 performers compliment each other. Their harmonies blend together and they have the voice of angels. The songs performed on the DVD and CD are all excellent and speak to our hearts, our fears, and our blessings. "The Island" speaks to our political fears and hopes for the future. Very moving expectionally performed. I would recommend buying the Celtic Thunder CD and the DVD of their show in concert. All are EXCELLENT! Looking forward to the seeing the show in person in November 2008!

WHAT A PERFORMANCE!It's a wonder I haven't worn out both the DVD and the CD! I was afraid I was going to drive the rest of my family nuts with it, but when I came in from working in the garden 2 nights ago, my husband already had it on and was enjoying the show yet again. I started it over without a word of complaint from him.We love ALL of their music, Celtic and otherwise. The presence of other music in no way detracted from the power and beauty of this show. The DVD was the greatest!! Its wonderful that these performers can be passionate about what they sing, be SO GOOD at it and still have FUN. It was such a "hoot" to watch the audience relate to them and see the reactions of possibly family and friends. We had a blast trying to pick out who we thought were Damian McGinty's, and George Donaldson's and all the others as well. We were so taken with the show, we even watched the interviews (a first) which gave us a small window to their world - who they are and what is important in their lives.September come quickly, I can't wait to get the rest of the songs!!

Je suis fan de ce groupe depuis des années et chaque jour, je ne peux m'empêcher d'écouter ce CD ou les autres de ce groupe en ma possession. C'est un voyage quotidien vers les landes Celtes, où je retrouve mes racines, et qui me font vibrer chaque jour davantage ! J'ai acheté en 2014 3 CD de ce groupe, Storm, Héritage et Celtic Thunder. Ils marchent tous les trois pratiquement chaque jour, aucun problème, toujours aussi bien, les CD sont comme neufs sans aucune alterations dues au temps. Je recommande vivement

As I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband so we haven't viewed it yet but as we both enjoy Celtic Thunder I'm sure it will be great

Love it - love it. Play it in the car when ever we have to go anywhere. Love Celtic Thunder and their beautiful blending of voices.Recommend it highly. My 4 year old little guy loves the songs as well. No swears or suggestive crudeness - just plain, clean beautiful singing.

Die CD ist super, schöne Lieder und die Band ist einfach Spitze.Kann ich nur wärmstens empfehlen. Viel Spaß mir der Musik
