My mom likes pretty much anything mermaid so when I found this I was very excited about the uniqueness and the price .. I cannot believe how inexpensive this beautiful natural piece of artwork was..out of all of the presents that I bought my mother for Christmas, this one was the least expensive but it was the one she loved the most ... the actual charm is very beautiful and made very well but the two different chains and ropes that it comes with are kind of ugly and plain and cheap and they make the charm look fake .. we purchased a separate sterling silver necklace and a soft piece of leather... this is the perfect beach BoHo accessory ! I think I might order one for myself !!

Excellent value for the money. I really like the pendant I purchase. Knowing each one is unique, that coloration can vary, I'm thrilled with the specific one I got!

My 3.5 year old daughters are obsessed with the Usborne children's book series the Secret Mermaid. We read them aloud before bed every night. In these books there is a little girl named Molly who turns into a Secret Mermaid at night. She has a magical shell necklace that transforms her into the mermaid and transports her to the ocean. I wanted to get my girls a necklace similar to the one in the book. These necklaces were perfect for that. They seem pretty durable and my girls LOVE them and pretend to be Secret Mermaids. Very cute!

Beautiful!! It's slightly bigger than a quarter and it's a rich, dark brown color. No flaws or imperfections. Nice sterling silver border around it. The back isn't perfectly flat, but the surface has been smoothed down and it lays perfect when it's on. I received the silver ball chain, but not the cord. I don't need either because I'm using my own 16" silver chain with this.Note to any potential buyers considering this item. I've seen these ammonite pendants at gem and jewelry shoes and I can tell you that they start at $30 for the smaller, not so pretty ones. The one that I got here would have been in the $50 range. I'm just floored this was under $10!!!

This was surprisingly nice for the twelve bucks I spent. My 12 year-old daughter likes the black necklace, but it also came with a metal chain. The ammonite looks like the photo - highly polished, details nicely visible. It looks nice enough to wear with a dress.In terms of durability, she's refused to take the necklace off for the past month for sleep or sports, etc. It still looks like new.Finally, and I know this is minor, it came in a little velvety pouch, which was a perfect presentation for a girly girl who loves science and Fibonacci!

This was a gift for a friend who loves jewelry from fossils. The pendant comes nicely packed inside a cute gift bag (it would be nice if the bag was just plain blue but it's not a deal breaker) and includes a leather necklace as well as a silver chain along with the fossil itself. The fossil is nicely sized - slightly larger than a quarter - and attractive from both sides. The necklaces are nice looking and it's great to be able to give the recipient a choice of which they'd prefer to use.Overall, this is a very nice looking necklace and I certainly recommend it.

It is pretty. The back is a bit raised and rough. I kind of like the look of it, and sometimes prefer to wear it backwards to showcase that side instead. But when I wear it correctly, I find the roughness of the back to be a bit abrasive.

I bought two of these. One for me and one for my husband. They are very beautiful and a nice size, big but not TOO big...but they are definitely noticeable. They are in great shape to be fossils. There were little nicks here and there but nothing noticeable. But it is a fossil so you cant expect perfection. We wear ours always and they have held up well. We have a one year old who likes to yank on them and try and chew them and they have not taken any damage so you can wear these daily without worry. I will say they look MUCH better in person than in the photograph.

Never know what color you might get, but that is the joy of ammonite.
