I love everything about these handles. To start with, they are MUCH better quality than any others I have used. I think this is my third replacement set and the same thing keeps happening with the other brands: The lever portion (which is usually made of plastic) breaks after about 18 months of use. These have a metal handle and lever and are obviously much sturdier. In fact, there is more metal than plastic in these, unlike the other brands that have no metal except the return spring and the pivot pins. I have confidence that these will last years without breaking.Sure, they're a little more expensive than others, but far cheaper than the total I have spent on poorly made ones that break after 18 months. Not to mention hours of my life spent taking the doors apart to replace them.Installation was as easy as it could be...all interior door handles like this require you to pull the door liner out, but the fit was perfect and it looks great.I also like that it comes in powder -coated black. The others I have had (including the factory originals) were chrome and I like the black look a lot more.Operation is smooth and sure. It is great to have something that feels sturdy and to not cringe every time I open the door hoping this won't be the time it breaks.My recommendation: Stop wasting your money and time on cheaper handles. Get these and be done with it.

Do yourself a favor and stop wasting money on the cheap plastic handles, I was so tired of replacing the cheap plastic handles. These metal ones fit perfectly, look great and don’t feel like they are going to break every time you open the truck door. Great product.

The feel is great. The handles feel like a quality part when opening the doors compared to the original factory handles. So far so good. All the clips were there and intact. I got the right parts and I had no issues that were mentioned in other reviews.

These were super easy to install. All metal construction and super sturdy.

After 20 years my OEM plastics gave up. I had replaced them before with aftermarket...plastic again. Well after those broke, I decided to get some METAL. I could not have been happier with these!Solid build. Easy OEM fit. METAL!!.After a few years now I've lubed them up a little & never had a problem with them. Some folks might be a little put off by the little bit of tarnish that does happen after a few years but its nothing a little TLC, or polish wont fix. Me I'm happy just the way they are, no rust, no cracks, NO WORRIES😁.

Don’t waste your money on the $10 plastic garbage. Spend your $ on OEM ONLY! Otherwise, you’ll end up doing it multiple times because the cheap handles will easily break.

The arrived in great condition and appeared to be well built. The two issues I encountered when installing it were the plastic clip used to hold the door actuator rod was too small for the hole it sits in. With the rod inserted, it did not have enough of a bump on the plastic to keep it from slipping out of the hole on the handle. After several times of inserting it and then installing the handle into the door only to have it fall out, I took the plastic clip from the old door handle and used it. The clip on the original handle was noticeably larger than the one that was on this one. The other item was the slot for the door lock barrel tang was slightly larger than the tang. The door lock would also turn and fall out when installing the handle into the door. With the rod no longer falling out, this was solved by holding it in place while getting the screw started and then tightened.Overall, this seemed to be a great handle.

Don’t wasted your time with Dorman plastic oem replacements that break after 1 year, upgrade to these, you won’t regret it I promise you.

Was tired of the Dorman oem replacements breaking after a year of use. Right out the gate these feel better when you open the door, they don’t feel cheap, they’re solid and open the door smoother than the plastic junk handles. Highly recommend

Edit May724 - I’ve now installed these handles and they feel great. I am super pleased. Definitely makes the vehicle feel a bit more premium. The truck should have come from factory with these handles. Install was easy and came with all the necessary pieces for the exterior handle. However, I would suggest not breaking any of the little plastic pieces of the handle being replaced in case you need extra. Double check that all pieces came with your purchase before yanking the stuff apart. Lube up what needs to be lubed with silicone.I am giving 4 stars as of now but will edit to 5 after they have been used for a while. Installed on a Black Sand Pearl 2003 Tacoma Double Cab DLX (4A body style).———Old review: Item seems to be of decent design. Unfortunately my first purchase was lost and I waited almost two months before I got my money back. Second order showed up the next day.
