Simple Chef Stainless Steel Garlic Press & Silicone Peeler Set – Easy to Use & Easy to Clean – Perfect for Mincing, Crushing, Pressing & Peeling

This garlic press works great, with a few minor criticisms. For the typical home chef, it should exceed your expectations for pressing garlic. I was surprised to find that a small silicone sleeve for removing the papery skin off garlic cloves was included. I've personally found these to be hit or miss, but I like the fact that it was included.The press itself has some heft to it. Doesn't feel cheaply made, despite being made in China. The garlic "compartment" does flip out to allow for easier cleaning, however this is one of my criticisms. A different press I previously owned had a better way of cleaning the garlic from the small holes. Alas, this one seems to be just as easy/difficult as the rest (I usually employ a toothpick for popping out pesky garlic bits that don't want to budge). I did notice the slightly oversized compartment, however, which works nicely for stuffing those larger garlic cloves that I always need to cut in two pieces to fit in my previous press.It does press garlic as well as any other press I've used. I've noticed some slight yielding on the handles when squeezing tightly. This might wear it out over time. If you want pressed garlic, this will certainly do the job!The box does state it is dishwasher safe, however I'm hesitant to put this through the dishwasher. I've had negative experiences with premature corrosion of unfinished metal surfaces and the metal "grate" that the garlic presses through has some rough edges which could be subject to accelerated corrosion. I wish they had taken the time to polish these down, but it doesn't affect the performance of the product.As for size, it will take up more space in a kitchen drawer than my previous press. Not a bad thing, given its larger capacity, however worth mentioned for the space-constrained consumers. It does come with dual metal loops at the ends of the handles if you should choose to hang it instead.All in all, pretty satisfied with this press. Given the price and the quality, it definitely seems like a solid buy!

Seems pretty sturdy but I have two issues with it. 1.) No instructions are provided. I have no idea how to use the garlic peeler. It's a round silicone tube and for the life of me I have no idea how that peels garlic. Obviously, I could Google instructions. But for those not so internet savvy, provided instructions would be helpful. 2.) Part of the design is a thin, metallic stick on coating. Mine is peeling already. That's kind of annoying because I'm worried about it flaking off and getting into the garlic.Other than that, no complaints.

The garlic peeler that comes with the press is amazing. It does exactly what its supposed to and in a fraction of the time that it takes to do it by hand. The garlic press on the other hand is not quit as impressive. The hopper holds only 1 maybe 2 cloves at a time and most of what is pressed squeezes out around the top and sides of the plunger. Additional cloves pressed yielded only a modest amount of garlic with most of it being stuck in and on the machine. Since the hopper doesn't separate from the rest of the unit, cleaning is a bit more of a chore than I was expecting too. It is well constructed and seems like it should last a long time but we do a LOT of garlic in our kitchens and we have already ordered a Kuhn Rikon to replace it.

The Simple Chef Stainless Steel Garlic Press is superior others that I have had in the past. The first thing that I noticed upon taking it out of the packaging is how sturdy it felt. AS I was inspecting the garlic press, I determined that it was in deed well made. I was able to put i through the test next night. The peeler/ that was included made peeling very easy. The press did it's job! it was easy and gave me all of the product that I put in.I could had used this years ago.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

Purchased this in need of a garlic press/ peeler for the kitchen. I'd never owned one, but since I've been cooking more I figured it was time. I'd looked in stores but everything was super pricey so I never got anything. Enter this garlic press! Nice heavy quality/ weight to it and it gets the job done - without getting my hands coated in the garlic scent. I've used it a few times, and I'm really happy with it! The peeler works great too and cleaned up with just a quick rinse. For the price, it can't be beat.

The silicone garlic peeler that comes with this press is simply amazing. Just to have it is worth buying this product. It makes peeling your garlic SO easy. What used to take me 5 to 10 minutes now takes me 5 to 10 seconds! The press itself works well and is easy to clean. I would recommend it as an addition to your useful kitchen gadgets!

I've had several garlic presses in my life. This is because I never shopped around and instead just tossed cheap, plastic grocery store brand presses into my cart whenever the last one broke.I finally gave in, looked around amazon, and came across this Simple Chef garlic press. I thought "Surely I'll need to spend more to have a truly amazing garlic press," but BOY WAS I WRONG. I demolished like five massive cloves with minimal effort and made some incredible shrimp. It was easy to clean, easy to load, and very satisfying to use. I'm never turning back.

The garlic peeler was the BEST part of this combo. The garlic press did a great job at mincing the garlic easily, but left a film of unused garlic on the inside of the press. However, it cleaned easily under the water and is dishwasher safe - even better!
