Plug and play rv fan upgrade or r
Bought this to replace cheap fan in rv. Easy to install. Fits standard fan hole perfect. Has several speeds and can move air in or out. Old fan only had 1 speed and only pathetic air out. Looks like it came with rv. Runs on 12v power. Louder than a Fantastic Fan, but better than standard cheap rv fan. Would buy again.

Easy installation from inside the cabin.
I’ve used Maxxairs on 3 separate RVs but I always dreaded going on the roof to remove caulking and doing modifications to the OEM clamshell and lifting gears. The Vortex II is completely done from the inside keeping the OEM cover and caulking intact.Looks great, like it is OEM, quite, moves a lot of air at full speed, and was easy to install. No modifications to the original clamshell and gearing needed. One complaint, included instructions are confusing at best. YouTube installation videos are your friend here.

Great upgrade and should have done it 4 years ago.
The media could not be loaded. Pretty easy to install. Had to adjust the position of the damper adjusting handle. No instructions in the box. Moves a lot more air and would definitely do this upgrade again.

Great fan, easy install.
I bought this Vortex II fan and absolutely love it. Installation was pretty easy, but having an extra hand really helps. I watch a few install videos on YT to see how difficult it was but pretty much anyone can do it. I bought this fan because I am lazy and cheap (it was on sale) and didn't want to deal with going on top of the roof, removing the sealant around the old fan, install the very expensive Maxx fan, reseal, etc., etc. Instructions were okay, I did have to trim down the shroud trim piece that goes in the gap around the between the roof and fan. What I like about the fan the most is that it move hot air out of the RV pretty quickly, the multiple speeds, including reverse. It replaced that ineffective 4 inch fan that the vent had. The only con I have is that on high speed is a little noisy but defiantly quieter than the old fan.

A huge quality of life upgrade
If you have one of those loud-whine ineffective things, just buy this. Life is so much better now.I have a 48-foot Delta that is a mobile lab, and like most vendors, they used the cheapest possible components. I really needed to establish an airflow pattern to sweep out VOC and elevated CO2, and was going down the rabbit-hole of added ventilators until I found this.Installation was not painful, other than the nuisance of working overhead and dressing the wires. Mine had a nice LED ring for room light, and this worked fine with that. The pass-through fitting for the hatch-opening mechanism behaved perfectly, and I gave it the smoke test.OMG. Not only is it quiet at low speeds, but if you open another vent in the rig there is dramatic airflow. I could use my Home Assistant air quality monitors to see the VOC level drop in minutes, and when it is stuffy from people it sweetens the air. And if you really want to push some volume, it will totally do it. The difference when opening an intake is dramatic, unlike the original one that does almost nothing. This is an excellent solution, and not requiring surgery aloft is a HUGE plus. Highly recommended.

Over priced, lacks instructions, Missing hardware. Noisy metallic sound when running.
The unit arrived, no instructions, missing some install hardware like correct mounting screws and a wire nut. Other mention this also. The screws to mount to unit to the vent frame are not compatible, had to use the ones on the original vent cover. I had to move the open/closed gear assembly to fit my vent top cover. Took a bit looking at this to make some sense but I was able to position the mechanism correctly so the screw drive opened and closed the vent lid. Because I had to move this gear assembly the knob that turns to open and close the lid interfered with the round screen cover. I had to shim the knob to get it to clear the screen. The motor makes a metallic whining sound and the fan blade assembly wobbles. The metallic sound increases with speed and is obnoxious. If you install it in the RV living area the sound is going to drive you crazy. If I had to do it over I would not. The build quality is low. Its worth $30 bucks at the most. The OEM 4 inch fan was just as good at moving air as this one on low speed.

Easy replacement
This was a great replacement for the exhaust fan in my RV. I'm not sure the reverse function is needed but I have it if ever I find a need. The amount of air the fan pulls even on the low setting is impressive. The installation took me about 15min. Grab a couple wago connectors, a screw driver and some wire cutters and you'll be done in no time at all.
