Thirteen ChefsProduct:Food Grade Mineral Oil for Cutting Boards, Countertops and Butcher Blocks - Food Safe and Made in the USAReview:I have used Food Grade Mineral Oil for over 20 years.I have given the Thirteen Chef’s a “test run”, and have found it to be a top quality product and with a 12 fluid ounce bottle, I consider this product to be a good value.Food grade mineral oil is used to treat the handles of wood handled knives, wooden spoons, butcher blocks, butcher block counter tops, and wooden cutting boards. The mineral oil replaces the natural oils that the Wood contains when new. Through the washing process the wooden components mentioned above the oils are leached out of the wood, causing the original color to degrade and in the process, reduces the longevity of the wood.- [ ] The treatment process is simple. Wipe the oil on the wood to be treated, rub it in for about 30 seconds, set it aside on a hard “non porous” surface ( like a dinner plate) for between 12-24 hours, and your good to go.- [ ] The only exception to this would be for the treatment of utensils which have not ever been treated. In this case, several treatments may be required to bring the item being treated back to a pleasing appearance.- [ ] In the case of wooden spoons and other wooden cooking utensils, the oil having soaked into the items being treated, gives the item more flexibility and reduces the chance of breaking a utensil which has become brittle through the loss of its natural oils.- [ ] It is not advisable to use other Food Grade oils such as oil oil or vegetable cooking oils as they do not soak into the woods cellular structure as well and tend to leave a sticky residue on the surface and the stickiness increases over time.

MINERAL OIL WORKS ON BAMBOO CUTTING BOARDS & OLD WOODEN KITCHEN TOOLS
This stuff is the bomb, pretty amazing stuff as far as mineral goes. Of course I would prefer pretty lingerie or a romantic dinner but hey you can't always get what you want. I used it on my 18" x 24" Kikcoin Bamboo Cutting Board. Applied it generously to all surfaces including the edges, handle cut-outs and drip reservoir, propped it up on its side and left for my night on the 10 hour graveyard shift. When I returned the next morning my expectations were shattered, instead of the pale blonde bamboo cutting board I had left the previous evening I had a rich looking finish, a subtle satin finish and was totally impressed. Also-I wiped all the excess mineral oil that was on my hands onto & into an old wooden spoon I've had for years-shazaam! The old wooden spoon had metamorphized into a brand new richly colored kitchen tool that I can brag about here on The Amazon Review board.

Great product: Food Grade Mineral Oil
I've only used this once so far however the result are much better than the beeswax/mineral oil bought from Lowe's. The oil soaked in nicely and evenly over night. The coloring is much brighter and the texture is smoother, is obviously condition.

Works Great on Old Cutting Board, Wood Utensils and Seashells
Purchased this to use on my bamboo cutting board, wooden utensils and cleaned seashells. Works great for all of my needs. Used first on a wooden cutting board in my kitchen (likely from the 1960's). While I have cleaned this very old cutting board...still had an orangish color on towel used to clean it. Now Great! No orange on cloth. Next used on wooden cooking utensils and brought the old ones back to life. Finally I collect seashells (only ones that are no longer inhabited) and used this oil after several cleaning methods. Wow the shells shine, not like lacquer...more natural. Additionally this oil is Non Toxic and left no scent. Over all very pleased with this product.

Keeps my wood kitchen tools looking great!
I use this mineral oil for my cutting boards, salad hands, and wooden utensils, It’s super easy to apply—just pour a little on, rub it in with a cloth, and let it soak. My cutting boards look so much better now—no more dull or dry spots.I love that it’s food-grade, so I don’t have to worry about using it on things that touch food. Plus, it doesn’t leave any weird residue. I do this every few weeks to keep everything in good shape, and it makes a big difference. If you’ve got wood kitchen tools that need some TLC, this is definitely worth having on hand.

Awesome oil
Good quality, good thickness for the oil, great value, makes wood feel soft after treating, no leakage on delivery. Easy to use on polishing blades and cutting boards.

Works great, even on old wooden utensils
I used the mineral oil for my cutting board, wooden spoons and other wood cooking utensils, which I have owned for years. Despite their age, the oil worked well to restore the wood. I had to apply two to three coats, leaving them to dry about 24 hours between applications. After this process, I applied the Boos Block board cream. The mineral oil turned the wood into a darker color, but I was fine with that. They look great now.
