ASDAWN BL-42D1F Battery Replacement for LG G5 Battery, for LG VS987, H820, H830, LS992, US992, H845, Dual H850, H858, H860

Works fine but seems to need a constant recharge,

I had gone thru about 6 off-brand batteries from Amazon for my LG G5 phone. The all last about 1 year or less then rapidly discharge and swell. Previous were LG (original) 2800mAh,Taeozi 3200mAh, 2 Amyant 3200mAh, HETP 3200mAh, and 2 Maxbear 3500mAh. Those claiming to be higher capacity, greater than 3200mAh, performed no better than the standard 2800mAh capacity battery.The description for this battery, Asdawn 2800mAh, looked promising and the price was good at the middle of the price range for other batteries. It claimed high quality and a 1 year warranty so I purchased two of them.They are performing the same as higher capacity batteries, and I see no difference between them. in fact, other reviewers had tested high capacity batteries greater than 3200mAh and found that they were not the capacity as claimed but about the same as the 2800mAh battery originally supplied with the phone. Since higher claimed capacity didn't make a performance difference, I chose battery quality instead for longer expected life.After breaking in by at least 3 full discharges and 3 full recharges, the Asdawn batteries are performing fine so far. They fit very well in the phone and the phone works well. It didn't crash or freeze as claimed in reviews of other battery brands. However, they are new, less than 2 weeks old, so I can't tell at this time how long they will actually last.Also, since they are new I can not rate "battery life" and "longevity" at this time. For that reason I gave both ratings 3 stars- about the middle. I will review again after 1 year or when they start to fail and rate again. It's possible they will increase to 5 stars then. As I said, they are a good value so "value for money" was rated at 5 stars.

I bought this for my LG g5 to replace a very expensive Eveready, which itself was good. THIS one has proved to hold power a long time - sometimes after an hour of walking around with it newly-charged, it STILL is reading 100%. And after a whole day it's rarely below 60%. I would have NO hesitancy in buying one of these again!

This battery may very well be dangerous. It did not snap securely into place and dissipates most of its energy as heat. It went from 100% charged to 14% in about 3 hours. The phone was physically hot to the touch. If you want a pocket warmer, this may be useful but it does not work as well as the original 4 year-old factory battery. I have purchased another replacement battery and it works just fine. I don't know that it's a fire hazard but the short live and loose connection are enough to make me stop using it.

Received the battery 2 days ago. On the battery it shows BL-42D1F. My G5's original battery also has the same name but phone is H820 AT&T. It came with partial charge allowing me to insert the battery (perfect fit-easy insertion) and turn on the phone. After that charge dropped to 13%. I charged and charged fully. It lasted more than 24 hours and I don't see huge reduction on the battery after taking pictures, sending pictures, going to internet etc. Cannot know about the longevity, but for everything else, I am giving 5 stars. For the price, it is worth trying. I decided not tochoose Taeozi after noticing the latest reviews are not satisfactory at all.

The main reason I chose this battery was the date shown on the battery on the Amazon page. Every original LG battery I’ve seen for the G5 phone was dated 2016, and I figured a battery this old wouldn’t be full capacity. Based on the picture of this battery I expected this battery might have higher capacity since it was newer.No luck. Seems a fraud. Battery I received has no date. After the second charge, the phone message was “incompatible battery” and it wouldn’t boot up or charge. Amazon quickly sent me a replacement (on my request) and that works, but charges up to about 1600 mAh, not the 2700 mAh printed on the battery.I later then bought an original LG battery from another source, it also only charges up to about 1600 mAh.So this battery works fine, fits fine, but an equivalent original LG battery is available for fewer dollars.

Fits perfectly to replace my old swollen batteries, but the phone still has to be plugged in to use it even with 100% battery. Must be a problem with the phone or something.

I usually get a replacement battery from a local retailer that sells Duracell brand replacements. However, I decided this one had pretty good reviews and ordered one, mistake. Charged and discharged to build up the battery as is recommended in mid-February. It was fine for a few weeks, but here it is end of April and the phone is discharging normally down to 50% or so then jumping, for example, from 40% to 5%. If I pull the battery and reboot the phone it magically has 35% left. My other replacements have lasted about or a little over a year; this one didn't even make it three whole months! Don't waste your money.
