This thing is heavier than I thought. It fits my need perfectly (to hold up copper coil for a homemade pool heater). I gave it 4 stars because if you plan to use this for grilling, you'll likely have to get something to go over top of the grill to keep smaller items from slipping though. There's about 1.5" gap between the grates and a lot can get lost in your fire.I am impressed with how heavy and well put together this is. I really got my money's worth out of the product.

It fits my fire pit perfectly. It makes it easier to start the fire.

Nice heavy grate. Added to our fire pit to keep things (people) from inadvertently falling, or stepping, into pit when not in us. Welded four tabs onto ring to accommodate flush mounting. Very sturdy. Able to hold my slim 230 lbs with little deflection. We also have a punched stainless steel plate we add to the top to allow grilling. Not to worried about rusting, most things do, including me.Update: Forgot to add that this was placed inside a 36" galvanized fire ring typical of those seen in most stores. Nice snug fit.

It is a heavy grate, but rusted right away (after being outside one night). The bars are too far apart for placing anything but wood on (charcoal, food, etc. will fall through). Serves it's purpose adequately enough in the bottom of a fire pit.

Heavy duty, we use it over a 30" fore ring so we can put cast iron skillets on it.. very nice grate!
