Andrews McMeel Publishing The Rupi Kaur Boxed Set

I have heard so much good reviews about the Milk and Honey book and I wanted to read a "modern-day" poetry so I decided to buy this. I'm not normally a poetry person and this book did nothing to convince me otherwise. This is just not for me. The first part is mostly about violence and abuse. Though it is a book that empowers women, I wasn't able to connect with it. Some of the poems are just basic and found some with no real point and they aren't "lyrical" as what one should expect from a poetry or prose book. Also, this is not a book you want little kids or young teens to read (just my opinion) if you are from a conservative background.
