Q: Does this allow hard wire to a 12 volt dc system?

Absolutely. I hard wired this lamp to the 12-volt DC electric panel in our sailboat. Very easy. I luv the red light option this lamp offers. I've included photos of this install in an earlier post here somewhere.

Q: No white light. I turn it on and Ted is lit then pres the mode button at the lift and the red goes off and no white light. Are the white lights blown?

My light goes on and off at the switch on the base. The red and white light changes with a button at the end of the lamp head. My only problem was it is in the on mode when power is applied. On a boat when the battery switch is engaged the is on. I had to add a dedicated on-off switch to the circuit.

Q: What is the length of the goose neck?

This is installed in my boat and I'm not located close enough to go make an exact measurement, but I would assume the flexible neck is about 12" long
