Easy to install. Put on awhile back and seems to be holding up nicely.

Replaced my worn out struts, now it's way easier to open the trunk all the way and not worry about it shutting on me with a gust of wind. Waited a long time to get these, but since I store everything in my trunk, I kinda wish I got these sooner. Install was easier than removing old ones, which wasn't hard at all and took me all of 60 seconds with a flat head screw driver.They are nice and smooth and the fit is ALMOST perfect. No complaints, but I know that the more expensive ones are just a little bit better and don't allow the trunk to over extend and rattle the hinge. Glad I went with these anyways. I just want functionality.

I am not sure if the product is supposed to spring the trunk lid open upon the push of the interior remote button. I will indicate that they will pop the lid into the air with a gentle lift of the trunk lid. They certainly do the required task of holding the trunk lid up at the maximum point. I hope they have some decent longevity considering they aren't an O.E.M. product. I'm sure the pair of struts I swapped out of the 1999 Mustang were likely original.
