11 Footprints 40th Anniversary Lapel Pin Contains Flown Command Module Metal That Went to the Moon on Apollo 11

My wife and I have just recently gotten more serious about our lifelong love of astronomy and space exploration, and I've started adding a few collectibles to my display case. This is a neat item, and the cheapest "flown metal" collectible that I've seen. Being able to look up at the moon and say, "Part of this went way up there!" is pretty darn cool, at a really low price. Looks great next to my flown metal medallions (note that case and stand are not included). Own a piece of history!

I got my jeweler to cut off the pin and to drill hole so I could make a pendant.I wore it every day for two months. It made me so happy.My son in law is getting the lapel pin for Christmas. Shhhh!

Great gift for an adult or teenager. More of a keepsake, or can be used as jewelry or a tie tack. I understand that a lot of NASA people have them. They are worn or displayed in cases with other space items.

This is the same pin that Buzz Aldrin wears. Wore it to a black tie event where he was an honoree. Got to meet him, and showed him the pin. He was impressed. Doesn't get better than that !

A cute, well made, inexpensive little keepsake. More sentiment than investment, but it does have a bit of the Apollo program in it. NASA had oversight of the item production for the 40th, too.
