ESPN Classic Ringside: Mike Tyson (Two-Disc Knockout Edition) [DVD]

I expected the Moon and I was still impressed.
I'll preface this by saying that I'm a humongous fan of Tyson. I knew quite a bit going in but even I was surprised by the depth and quality of the source for even the older matches. Tyson's brute strength and galloping quickness were on prime display well before his astounding title fight against Berbick. This set is chock full of matches and you could spend an afternoon catching all of it with friends. The only negative thing about the set is the preview of the next match before what would've been a commercial break. It always shows a knockout or knockdown so it's good to cover your eyes and skip to the next part. I have no idea why they would show that, but for me it's not enough to take any points away. The commentary is especially deep and I enjoyed hearing more about the era and Tyson's personal life. All in all, A+ effort here. You won't regret purchasing and it'll probably get you off the couch and make you want to practice your drills.

For the boxing / Tyson fan - this item is a knockout.
Tyson was arguably the most feared boxer in the world during his reign of terror that was being followed throughout this DVD.It takes you from his early beginnings, to his steady rise to fame, and the pinnacle of his success. In these fights, you see why Iron Mike Tyson was renowned by boxing fans, and sports fans in general. His speed, elusiveness resulting from his 'peek-a-boo' style, and his devastating punches made opposing boxers minor road bumps on his fast track to stardom. In between these fights is commentary from Teddy Atlas (formerly Tyson's trainer), who provides an in-depth look at Tyson's earlier career, and what really made him tick. And, of course, Bert Sugar gives valuable insight, as well. For any boxing fan who wants to re-live Tyson's reign of terror, or young boxing fans looking to watch one of the greats of the sport for the first time - this particular DVD should satisfy.

Iron Mike Knock Outs
This is a great chronological history of the man and the menace Mike Tyson. My lone beef with this video is the buster douglas fight. They skip round 1 (and possibly one other round) and you cant really watch it in its entirety as half way through they break for commentary but like i said this is just a minor qualm i have with this video. It shows all his most brutal KO's up to the Douglas fight. I would have liked to see the Lennox Lewis or Holyfield fights in there but if you want something like that there are plenty of places on the web to buy Tyson's career set. Its a very entertaining video and i recommend this to all Tyson or boxing fans

Come and Get Ya Some
Mike Tyson may not be the most loved man in sports history, and the video offers opposing views to Mike's greatness, but I'm a Tyson Fanatic. I think Tyson is among the greats. They say that behind every good man is a great woman. The same also goes for sports stars. I always did better when my coach was next to the mats.In any case, I love watching these dvd's. If I'm having trouble getting pumped to spar or workout even, I'll throw in one of these dvd's and wait for my blood to get pumping.

Review of Mike Tyson DVD
The fights (even the early ones) are breathtaking for the skill and ferocity of Mike Tyson. It is as if the spirits purposely matched this human being (Mike Tyson) to the sport of boxing. The physical and mental match between man and his sport is a perfect one. Before the Buster Douglas fight, the superiority of Tyson to his opponents was almost absolute. The vast majority seemed afraid of Tyson, and played a defensive game. The Douglas fight was a classic for the ages.

Must have for any Tyson or fight fan in general
I won't go into the intricacy's of this dvd because it's pretty much self explanatory. what i will say is that it's of high quality(and length) and a great source of information about the man and his sport in general. There is enough information from the credible presenters to keep the boxing historian entertained and to the casual fan of a good slug fest, this one is probably as good as it gets. 19+ fights!!Lets admit it, Mike Tyson is probably as good as it gets!
