NOT A BOSE SOUNDLINK MINI II SPEAKER, But Still a Nice Speaker FOR THE PRICE.
I own a Bose SoundLink Mini II speaker and this Anker speaker is good, but not that good. For a $50 to $60 speaker (still a little overpriced) this speaker can be loud and does a pretty good job with most music and Echo Dot. I use this speaker in my bedroom with a Dot, a Bose SoundLink Mini II speaker in the livingroom with a Dot. The Anker speaker works well with the Dot and hooks up through the Alexa App easily. The sound is pretty decent for a speaker in this price range --again, I reiterate "in this price range". Also, this is a very attractive unit and comes boxed and shipped carefully to the front door -- thank you, Amazon. I have the first EARLY model (there's a newer model now) of the Large Amazon Basic Bluetooth Speaker. This Anker speaker sounds almost identical to my older Amazon speaker, and they each cost the same -- around $60.00. It would be difficult for me to determine which speaker is better, but I lean a little towards the older Amazon unit, but this is just a subjective opinion because the two speakers are very close in sound. The older model Amazon speaker (don't know about the newer model of the same speaker) always turns itself off which made it unusable for the Dot. The Anker speaker stays on all the time and, therefore, always ready for Alexa to use. Even though this Anker speaker is not in the Bose ballpark, it's a good speaker for the money. I would not pay more than $60.00 for this speaker. It's original price of $100.00 is way too muchot.EDIT: Now that I have had more time with using this speaker I find that the overall sound is better coming from my Amazon large basic speaker. If I had to choose between the Anker speaker and the Amazon speaker, I would choose the Amazon speaker. However, the Anker speaker is very attractive, and the sound is okay, not great, but okay. For the price, and no more than I use it, it does the job.

I'm not too impressed with it as a single speaker, but when paired it shines.
I'm fighting between three and four stars, I will give it four though it's might not be deserved. I have this on a 3.5mm Y splitter off my new gaming comp and the bose soundlink mini connected to the other end. So when the two play together it go's to an earsplitting volumes and sounds amazing for slower softer music, pink try, justin bieber new song love yourself or something is amazing. When this speaker plays alone without the bose it sounds just adequit. Nothing special and surely not as good as the bose mini. I got this for $45.00 on a lightning deal so I might keep it. When the sound is off there's a clicking noise while it's hardwired. Also when any kind of volume is given to it I can hear speaker rattle, like distortion but not distortion. Can't truly describe it. The bose doe's not do that or have the popping noise when not being used. This connects up nicely with my tablet (Lenova) which is what I got it for, so I can watch my shows while I work on my comp and have adequate souind from both my comp and my tablet, for that purpose it shines. It's not a full sound like the bose, it barely has any bass at all like the bose and it sounds very cheap on most songs unless like I said it's softer listening music, then it's pretty good. I don't know how anyone could say this compares or is a high end device, I'm not not all that impressed with it and surely don't think it's worth sixty dollars, save and buy a bose mni is my advice. Then you'll have what you want and even the mini has it's problems not to be discussed here now. I will say the mini can't be turned up very loud before it muffles the sound where this can be but it doesn't go very loud for most stuff at all and again don't expect bose bass from it or any real bass at all. It's not that heavy either like everyone is saying oh it's so heavy no it's not. The buttons are a pain in the butt to use and don't respond or give you feeling of response when used. For example you don't just press to turn it on and off, you have to hold and then let go after a certain amount of time, I've yet to get the timeing of this right amount of time and most the time find myself pushing and holding up to three times to get my requested action. The volume can't be held like the bose, it's individual clicks and you don't hear a diffecence when clicking for quite a while, so expect to find yourself clicking the hell out of the volume buttons to get desired setting. It doe's have max volume beep.I wish I bought the jbl flip 2 for the same price just about. I think that would have been the better choice. I still might return this one because of the clicking noise I have to put up with when not being used but the speaker is on. Though it's not doing it right now, so not sure. On a last not when paired with the bose mini and played together there is about a second delay so expect and echo effect, but it's tolerable for softer music and can be gotten used to but commercials sound just messed up. Together they put out some amazing stereo sound so on this respect I'm very happy and were talking really loud and super clear, so if you want this set up and live with the echo then go for it, if you want a single speaker, then save up for the bose or try another speaker like the flip 2. good luck

Very bad bluetooth connection for first unit, but Anker resolved this problem immediately. Great customer service. thanks
Perhaps this Anker shouldn't deserve ONE STAR. Maybe 2 or 3. but right now, this Anker bothers heck out of me.By the way, Anker sounds good. Good Bass, clear mid and somewhat detailed high. Sound quality and signature are pretty darn good, I must say. Then, why the ONE STAR?IT IS THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION!!!!I listen to a lot of youtube and other podcasts. And in many cases, I must stop the playing for few minutes, specially in the case of podcasts for learning languages. Then, after few min later on, I can not get it connected again. I have to close out the Window Media Player and re-start again or go to bluetooth setting and re-connect again. And sometimes, even that does not work. I have to close everything and start all over again. It is just a pain in the butt. I do not know whether I got a bad one or it is all supposed to be like that... I do not know. For me, it is a major disappointment.UPDATE June 26, 2018Anker contacted me about this issue and they sent me another model.I have been testing and using another model and I realized that there is no bluetooth disconnection problem with this new unit.I am happy with their excellent service and great bluetooth speaker.so I have upgraded from one star to five star for the speaker quality and specially for the great service from Anker members.
