SAFAVIEH Montauk Collection 5' x 8' Grey MTK751K Handmade Stripe Fringe Cotton Area Rug

I needed a new rug for our home office. If you're going back and forth with thinking of purchasing this rug~DO IT! I am IN LOVE with it. Description was perfect, color is nicely muted, I need to work on straightening the fringe, but that won't be an issue.

I bought two of the 9 foot runners for my hallway. The color is not what I would call a true grey. It's different in person than it appears online, at least in comparison to what I see on my screen. What I see on screen is what I would call a neutral grey, maybe even leaning a little warm. The actual grey is very cool almost blue toned close to chambray. If you're not picky about tones of colors (which I'm not) then it won't be a problem for you. If you're wanting a very specific grey, just keep in mind that what you're seeing may not be exactly what you get. The fabric used for this is a jersey knit weave cotton (think t-shirt material) not a woven cotton. Knit fabric is never as durable as woven fabric so woven cotton probably would have been a better choice for a rug. I get why people are complaining that the rugs smell mildewy or moldy. Unfortunately what you're smelling is the processing chemicals that are used in the textile industry. They probably were not 100% dry when put into the plastic wrapping at the factory and the smell is the end result. It's not suggested that these rugs be washed in a washing machine but I specifically always buy cotton rugs with no backing so that I can wash them in the washer. I just finished washing one and it did just fine. I wash on the bedding setting with hot water, watch it while it's on the spin cycle so I can make sure the drum stays balanced and then dry on med to high temp setting. There will probably be some shrinkage from doing this but I'd rather wash them and have them be a bit smaller from doing so than get contact dermatitis on my feet from the processing chemicals. I would also suggest peeling the sticker on the back off before washing as well. When you do this some of the little fabric ends will pop out but I just plan on keeping that side facing the floor anyway. Good price for this size rug.

I needed a rug for in front of my washer and dryer. They are in the basement, and I have a tendency to drop clothes on the floor and hate dropping them on the unfinished floor, so I wanted a nice clean rug for them to fall onto. This is the exact size I need, and since it's woven, it's nice and flat which is also what I wanted. It came just fine, quickly, good condition. My only problem with it, and the reason for the lost star, is the color. On my computer, this showed as a plum-ish color. It is most definitely not purple, and even the tag on the rug says "purple." I don't know whose idea this is of purple, but it is NOT purple. It's more maroon which is fine, but I just really wanted purple. I thought maybe I'd received the wrong rug. (Okay, I'll stop complaining about the color now.) I'm keeping it because it's exactly what I need, and the price (I paid about $33) was good, and it does look very nice where it is. The quality seems really good, so no complaints there. The fringe isn't that long so there shouldn't be any issues of it getting tangled or any of the other problems that comes up with fringe on a rug. All in all, I'm happy with it, and the cream in it helps brighten up the spot on the floor where it is, so that's good too. I would recommend the rug just be forewarned about the color if you really want or need a specific shade.

Good product, just what I wanted. Fast shipping, good seller. Others say the color is off, but I find it’s a true gray. There are multiple shades woven into the pattern so overall the grays and whites blend with the surrounding colors in the room. It’s nubby, but that’s how these rag rugs are designed. I don’t mind the look, but if you are looking for something more formal, this isn’t it. If you want a relaxed, boho look - this is it.

I like the look and feel of this runner: it made of natural materials, and it looks so much better in my bathroom than two separate differently sized traditional rugs. Although the color is not exactly the way it looks on my screen, I loved the touch of teal on the blue, and actually changed the colors of the towels and curtains slightly to coordinate. In my opinion, looks best in the cottage, beach home, even may freshen up some minimalistic interior.The only correction: in the size I've ordered, 2.3X6 there is one white line in the middle, unlike the one pictured in the listing. It looks more like one half of the runner pictured.

Do NOT wash. I bought this rug almost 3 years ago and have completely loved it. It looks great, it’s very causal, and brings the room together. I usually vacuum or shake it out, but I recently decided to throw it in the wash. I washed on cold, but even so, I ruined both the rug and the towels I was washing. So bummed! Buy this rug but don’t wash.

Beautiful rug! Looks exactly how it did in the ad photos, which is great because often times color will appear different than in real life. We put a nice anti slip underneath and it’s working out great. Very nice to have a natural fiber vs plastic!

I bought this in grey but it's actually more blue than grey. I love the rug though and have bought other rugs from this collection. The color is not right for the description but it's a really nice rug for the price!!

Ich habe den Teppich in Grau, Größe 160 cm x230 cm bestellt und wieder zurückgeschickt. Ich finde den Teppich VIEL zu locker gewebt, wodurch er zwar schön weich ist, allerdings zieht es bereits beim ersten Staubsaugen die Stoffenden heraus. Webfehler hatte er auch. Waschen würde ich ihn keinesfalls (wobei er dafür in 160 cm x 230 cm sowieso viel zu schwer und groß ist), dann löst er sich vermutlich vollends auf.Die Farbe sah auf dem Foto aus wie ein Weiß-Grau Verlauf, tatsächlich ist es aber kein Weiß sondern eher Elfenbein, was jedoch harmonisch wirkt. Für den Preis (kostete 122,99) erwarte ich mir bessere Qualität.Die Rücksendung an und über Amazon war echt mühsam und nervenaufreibend, weil eine Abholung durch Hermes NICHT - wie angegeben - funktionierte und der letztendlich mit dhl zurückgeschickte Teppich angeblich nicht angekommen war. Zig Telefonate und Gezeter, Gutschrift dauerte viel zu lange. Bisher habe ich gute Erfahrungen mit Amazon gemacht, aber dieses Hin- und Her hat mich echt genervt!
