Does The Trick
I've used the kna pickups before, so I was optimistic about the prospects of the AP-1 - and it works like a charm. I "affixed" it just at the bottom of the bridge on my Alvarez Classical (to minimize any obstruction for my strumming hand, etc. Sound is clear and true. Cable (included) decent quality and good length. What more is there to say? 1.) It "affixes: easily; 2.) It sounds good; 3.) The price is good.If you need and easy to use pickup for an acoustic instrument at a good price, this will work well for you.

Gets the job done on an antique instrument
Got this to connect to an antique kontragittare. Playing through a basic amp sounds good. Used museum putty as it leaves almost no residue or damage to the finish of the guitar.

Works well with a Yamaha GL1 guitalele
I purchased this for use with my Yamaha GL1. It works surprisingly well. As other reviewers have noted, placement of the KNA AP-1 is critical; sound quality varies greatly, depending upon where you stick the pickup on. With this particular instrument, a spot between the bridge and tail block gives me the best result. I positioned it off-center, below the midpoint of the bridge and almost touching the bridge, turned so that the pickup jack allows the cable to hang straight down when the instrument in is playing position. Forget the 2-sided adhesive stick-on dots. They make the sound too treble-y. Also forget the enclosed blue putty, as it might impart a stain to a natural wood-color soundboard. Order some neutral color Quakehold! 88111 Museum Putty. A small pinch of this stuff can be flattened out to a little 1/8 inch-thick pancake which will hold the pickup on very securely. (Flatten it BEFORE sticking it on the pickup, which is hollow. You might crack the wooden pickup by pressing too hard.) The Quakehold putty also dampens transmission of annoying high frequency noise---string squeaks, etc---producing a cleaner and more balanced tone.I'm presently using this pickup with a cheapo Danelectro Honeytone N-10 Guitar Mini Amp that I already had on hand. With both the gain and tone controls turned all the way down, the GL1 really sounds quite good. That's given me enough confidence in the pickup's capability to think about pairing it up with a more serious acoustic amplifier. All in all, money well spent.

Good pickup. Great customer service, too.
For under $40 this was a great buy. I purchased this for a new SX Travel guitar I purchased. I knew the guitar would have little if any volume at the gig I was flying to. Customer service at Kremona was awesome. My first one started cutting out. I contacted them right away and they sent me a new one which works perfectly. People and other musicians start to chuckle when I get on stage with my tiny guitar instead of my old D28 and they are amazed. I need to use a preamp with my Martin, but for some reason, the AP-1 seems to work better right into the DI and PA system. Naturally, with the little guitar, I ask for more bass and less treble. Eventually, I will post a video review and better photos. Placement is everything with this pickup and I am still experimenting. On the travel guitar when I positioned the pickup below the bridge I started getting feedback. I tried it in different places using the blue putty they provide. To the right of the soundhole. Even on the back. The best spot on THIS guitar was next to the bridge on the treble side. I have also tried it on my mandolin and the behind the bridge placement works fine. I want to try it on my Martin just for the heck of it. I did try using a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter at one gig because I didn't bring my cable. The combination of the big adapter and the heavier guitar cord wanted to pull the pickup off. Once I adhere it with the self-adhesive discs it might be different. But the cable provided works great and I have a longer cord that works fine (even though it is stereo). I bought this pickup.

There is absolutely no reason to buy this
Why are sellers allowed to sell junk. I swear this thing picks up radio stations. You're just gonna hurt your ears trying to get it to work. And I guess when you return something they get to delete your reviews? Because I know I already left a review for this garbage pickup. Am I the baddy for being honest about something that belongs in the trash?

nice looking item
I put this on my Enya tenor acustic ukulele, Works well, nice looking item, plenty of volume, but that will mostly depend on you amp. just need to take your time and find the sweet spot, like they tell you close to the bridge, but not in your way, make sure plug is facing away towards the bottom /down. Took a good 5-10 minuets ,attach the double stick dot to the pickup first, but don't remove from instrument side yet, then move it around while strumming you instrument while putting slight pressure try to hold by the edges as it will affect the sound when touching the center, i would recommend.....Good Luck.....Hope this helps.
