Energy Efficiency Without Breaking the Bank (Bosch KGE49AICAG)
I used to run three separate devices, a separate fridge, a freezer, and a mini fridge and these appliances had a combined energy usage of about 230 Watts. Read to the end to see how much I save! The Bosch KGE49AICAG Serie 6 Freestanding fridge has a Class C energy rating and is well worth the ÂŁ750-ÂŁ800 as it is probably the best bang for your buck in its class. I researched probably over 30 refrigerators before I bought it and so far I'm really happy with it. It is mahoosively big and roomy, standing probably over 6ft tall, 70cm across and 64cm deep, and is whisper quiet. The controls are intuitive, with an LED display and buttons to turn the refrigerator and freezer temperature up or down and there is an obligatory temperature alarm.I bought one of those Energy plug meters, the "Yurayisen Power Meter Electricity Usage Monitor,13A Energy Monitor" specifically to measure the Bosch beast and the device was pretty accurate as I tested it against a 14watt lamp and a 400-1200 Watt variable electric heater.Basically, the Bosch KGE49AICAG only uses circa 21-22 Watts of electricity, which is insanely little compared to my old equipment (230 Watts combined) and will pay for itself in no time at all!!!

Bosch Fridge Freezer 50-50
Just had the fridge-Freezer delivered and easily installed, and we are perfectly happy the product. It ideally suits our requirements. Being able to control the fridge and freezer temperature separately is a bonus, and the compartments size is perfect for our needs.

Great!
Bought this to replace an ageing Beko fridge freezer.Very impressed with it so far. It is quiet and using noticeably less electricity than my old fridge, despite maintaining cooler temperatures. The noise it makes is very low and pleasant. You can barely hear it. My old fridge made a din like a cement mixer full of nuts and bolts. The internal plastics are a little thin but then that's nothing unusual. Even in something like a Miele you can readily break the plastics if you aren't careful. My one complaint is that there isn't a temperature indicator for the fridge compartment. Had to spend a few quid to pick up one to use. This fridge is a little bigger than my old one. My old one was 55x55x180. So this one is about two inches bigger on all sides. There is so much more room inside, despite that fact that is uses less power. It's actually amazing how much bigger that is inside. It's a bit Tardis! One thing I particularly like with this fridge is the shelves and draws and so on are all in the right place for me. Everything seems very sensibly laid out. My only tiny complaint is that the large freezer tray in the middle is too big. I think it would have been better if all three were the same size. This is a small complaint though. One difference that I suppose is down to particular manufactures and models is the draws in the Bosch are much easier to slide in and out than my old Beko. The draws in the Beko used to partially derail and get stuck.Very highly recommended. I would definitely buy another Bosch.

Great fridge/freezer
Replacement for earlier Bosch model that stopped working after 24 years and still looked good. This model has more advanced features including resistance to icing up, which seems to be working.Seems to be virtually silent in operation, other than the temperature warning that sounds if you leave the door open too long!Drawer doors make it easier to find things quickly in the freezer. Previous model was a 50/50 split and my wife complained fridge sometimes lacked a little space. Now she hadn't quite adjusted to the 60/40 split so happy about fridge space but doesn't like the reduced freezer capacity, especially as she's finally become interested in batch cooking.. Muttering about a small extra freezer.. But to be fair she was doing that before too!One irritation though is the bottle shelf. Great if you need to store half a dozen bottles, wasted space if you don't and doesn't seem to be a possibility to replace with a normal shelf, though you can remove it. (At least, couldn't see an option on Bosch site to purchase one as an accessory. Might be I wasn't looking in the right place as replacement glass shelves would surely be a standard provision.)Relatively minor whinge, and generally very happy after a few months use.
