Belvah Black & White Quilted Damask Large Duffle Bag

I've owned a few overnight bags and my son always seems to claim them for himself. Until now. This duffle is perfectly girlie and just for me. I bought it as a gift to myself and wonder why I waited so long. It will not be used to carry an Xbox, sweaty track clothes, Nerf guns, or muddy shoes. It is mine - all mine.Another thought - if you are looking for a unique way to wrap up a bridal shower, or get well soon gift, I'd like to suggest this bag. Perhaps your boss is having surgery, your child's teacher is going to retire, or a niece is getting married. You and a few people are thinking of combining resources and buying one big gift. Include this in the mix. Load it with the other things you've bought and put a big bow on the outside. She doesn't need another big basket - a bag is so much more useful.

Edited 5-4-11: I wanted to update my review by saying that the seller has refunded me for the defective bag, and that while I will not be re-ordering the same bag, the seller was extremely courteous, understanding, and a great example of excellent customer service. Should I become interested in anything else from seller, I would not hesitate to place an order.I normally don't write reviews for items, but I felt compelled to write this one. I needed a Vera Bradley-type travel bag for short trips and I don't care about brand name, so I was glad to have found this bag. Upon arrival, it seemed to have everything I needed, was the right size, and felt sturdy. However, after only using this bag ONCE, I have found that three out of the four strap bases have begun falling apart. The threading of one strap has been ripped off of the base, while another two straps have begun tearing a small hole into the bag, which would be difficult to mend. While I can probably get one or two more uses out of this bag before I have to consider buying a replacement, it wasn't my intention to pay $35 for a 3-time use bag. If you want a bag that actually lasts, and don't want to put in the hassle of repair and repurchase, I would recommend skipping this one despite the deeply discounted pricetag.

This bag is the perfect size for a week or two of light traveling. The outside and inside pockets are useful, but don't take up any extra space if you do not wish to use them. It's easy to carry. It stands well.After traveling with it a few times, one of the metal feet it stands on fell off. I think this is because I checked it in on several flights (some international), and I do not think it is meant for such rough usage. Even though it is missing one of the feet, it still stands and is perfectly useable. I would probably buy it again, because it's such a useful size, and the second time not check it in on flights or only use it when not flying.

This bag is roomy and very pretty. I was, however, mislead, thinking it was a reduced price Vera Bradley item, since it was displayed on the page with other Vera Bradley items. Delivery was fairly prompt and packaged carefully.Overall, I am pleased with this bag...it's roomy, has a pretty print, but feels a bit flimsy. I hope that when I pack for an overnighter, or weekend trip, that it doesn't break apart. I will be keeping it and hope to enjoy it for a long time to come.Buyer beware...I guess I learned my lesson, that you have to read the fine print and make sure that it is what you really want!

I have only used this bag once since I bought it but it is great so far. Very sturdy and best of all it fits in the overhead compartment! I was looking for a cute bag that I could bring as a carry-on and this one definitely works so I was happy about that. I would suggest not packing it too heavy because the straps aren't made of steel but my bag was pretty heavy and it worked out fine. I hope over time they can hold up. I would recommend this bag and the bows on it are adorable as well. I love the print!!

It's a super cute bag, and initially I thought it would hold up. However, the zipper isn't that great. Eventually it broke (granted, it happened when I was trying to cram is shut). I was able to get it back on the track and sew off the end, so it didn't come off again. However, the teeth of the zipper don't always want to stick together. I probably won't be using it if I need to almost fill it, especially if it's with heavier items because the shoulder straps aren't that comfy. For the price, it's an okay bag.

A friend has a Belvah design with large black and white polka dots on the ends, but I couldn't find that particular print combo online anywhere. I asked where they purchased it...and they said a little shop in Georgia....well, I ordered the black and white one, I was not disappointed. It folds down for storage, is large enough to carry overnight stuff, has sturdy handle, was a great price compared to other popular quilted travel bags, and looks like it will wear well carrying it on an airplane or bus. I will say that having owned Vera Bradley this bag is not made with the quality materials, but it is great for the 6-12 times I travel each year....and the price was much better.

this was prime eligible and still didn't get to me until 4 days after I ordered it. to make things worse, the inside lining of the bag was ripped with I got it out of the package. I didn't return it because I was going out of town that day and needed it. the bag was big and I love the pattern. I just wish it would have gotten to me sooner and undamaged.
