Why did I wait so long to order this?I could kick myself. The thing is easy to install -- even for me, a 97-pound weakling. And my hair -- well, the frizz appears to be gone. My skin feels cleaner.How can the filter save you money? Well, I use probably 40-50% LESS conditioner. Makes sense, when you think of it -- all that chlorine was damaging my hair, so I had to use double the conditioner to repair the damage the water was causing!By the same token, I use less lotion afterwards. I take shorter showers because I get clean faster -- and detangling my hair doesn't take as long.That's money saved on hot water. Less hot water, less lotion, less conditioner. More money in your pocket.Add to this the health benefits of not inhaling chlorine!Don't make the mistake I made -- buy this filter -- or any filter, even if you don't get this one.Note: I spent my own money on this. It took just 5 minutes to install. Would have been nice to have the instructions mention to let the shower run for a bit to get the loose carbon out. I did that anyway but it would have been nice to have it in the instructions.

From the first few showers with this filter installed both my husband and I noticed how much nicer our scalps felt without the clorine! Great product for a great price, and definitely worth it!

I cannot yet attest to the efficacy of this device, only to the ease of installation. I am old, but I have basic tools. I had them all (pliers, wrenches, etc.) at the ready and needed none of them. You don't even have to know how to read! Just pick out the photo of your set-up. Hand tighten and don't use plumbers tape unless it leaks. Use the little washers. Now, here's the part you dread: When you turn on the water and it sprays from every possible connection: Nothing happens. It simply works. Sprays only out of the shower head. No running down the hose or dripping.Update: Water pressure is markedly decreased. I've had no softer hair or skin, but I want my water pressure back. Does this have a restrictor like my shower head that I can remove?

I like this mainly because it was easy to install. It did diminish the water pressure, but I would rather have that than the hard water I get without the filter.
