Hal Leonard piano books are the best. They make the child move their fingers around, so they don't memorize fingers as letters, and can more easily move on to more difficult music. They also don't give finger numbers on every note. I love it!The matching online recordings are great to play along with. They make you learn how to keep a beat, so you can play "songs" instead of plunk notes, and it really makes you feel like a maestro when you're playing single notes with a full orchestra.

My 8-yr old loves this book. The exercises and songs are good for the young ones to keep interest.

My kids have enjoyed learning from and playing from this book. These ones are a little more advanced than the other book but still good for learning students.
