No good as a chew toy. Tug only. Must supervise!
I was very excited to see a tug toy made in the USA. They are surprisingly difficult to find. However, my dogs made pretty quick work of it since the handle part was chewed through within a couple weeks and several pieces of the end flaps were torn off as well. I have two young 80 pound Ridgebacks who I would describe as moderate chewers. For instance, durable toys like Fluff n Tuff animals usually last several months with a few exceptions. This product wasn't able to last nearly that long which was disappointing.I think this would hold up well if used strictly as a tug toy, but it is certainly not suitable as a chew toy as suggested in the product description. As always, supervise your dogs with toys as the flaps are easily torn off. The product is pretty strong for tugging, although it was a bit thinner and lighter than I had expected. As mentioned, points for making it in the USA, but durability is an issue, and the $20 price point seems a bit high for braided fleece. I would consider another one to use as a strict tug toy, but I don't think I'll shell out another $20 bill for it.

Highest Recommendations!!! Your (light to moderate) chewer will LOVE these!!!!
My little Chi-Pom ABSOLUTELY LOVES this chew - we got her the larger one. It took her almost a year before she finally worked off all of the "flaps". She will spends HOURS running around with it and chewing on it, and she LOVES playing tug with it. Since it's handmade in the USA (and of recycled materials) what more could you ask for?! Since it IS fleece, if you have an aggressive chewer, they'll probably demolish it pretty quick (then again, the DO demolish just about *everything*, lol!) But if you have a playful pup (or adult dog), who doesn't like to "destroy", you can be pretty much guaranteed that they'll LOVE these! (The pic is a current one, and you can see she's managed to chew off all the "flaps", but she *still* loves it more than any other toy we've gotten her!)

A big hit!
I looked and looked for a dog toy that was made in the USA and they are few and far between. I was a little skeptical but I have been pleasantly surprised. This braided rope came in and from the minute I took it out of the package my dog has loved it. When he took it from me it was like had found his long lost buddy. He carries it around most of the time and plays with it with his older brother. I have a 4 year old and 7 month old Golden Retrievers. They both play with it but the 7 month old believes it's his! I only bought one but I plan to buy more. This is one of the best rope toys I have ever purchased. Thank you!

My maltipoo puppy's favorite chew toy
My now 12 week old maltipoo puppy definitely suffers from "affluenza" - he's very spoilered to put it lightly. I was given puppy toys by friends and neighbors and did a lot of shopping in pet stores and online in preparation for his arrival when he was just 8 weeks old. This tug-of-war chew toy is his absolute favorite and that was surprising to me. It doesn't squeak nor does it have any moving parts that he can chase. What he does is use it as his favorite chew toy - he even likes it more than Kongs w/treats inside or any of the other plush toys we have. He really loves to fetch so he loves to chase some of his other toys, but this is the one we keep on the couch and he'll just curl up beside it and bit on it - from the middle and both ends.So far I haven't done any other reviews for dog toys and like I said, we have a lot of them; but this one has been the most successful and I wanted to report back on it.Recommended - it's sturdy, safe and has lots of different shapes and textures for your puppy.

Quality Product & Excellent Customer Service
I ordered a size large for my dogs (Australian Shepherds). They love to play tug! The toy arrived and I can tell it is the best quality fleece rope toy I've ever found for the dogs. The toy was a bit small for my dogs. To explain, our dogs play tug together. They are both blind and we find longer tug toys work better so they don't accidentally nip each other in the face. I wrote an email to Duke's Digs asking what size they thought I should order for the future (I wasn't asking to return or a refund). I got an immediate response from Duke's Digs asking for a bit more info about my dogs. I sent more info and photos of my dogs. I received a reply back that they would be sending me a Super Jumbo toy as a gift for my two special dogs. I asked if they wanted me to return the other toy and they said to just keep it. They wanted to make two special dogs happy over the holidays. That was so sweet! And then when we received the package, it came with a very nice note for our dogs with the larger toy and it also came with treats in a super cute handmade fabric treat bowl. Talk about EXCELLENT customer service. We have a difficult time finding places that we can take our dogs for normal dog activities and are often times turned away as people aren't willing to work with blind dogs. To say the least, this experience was heartwarming. As far as the toy itself, the quality is superb! The braid is very tight and it is more durable than any other fleece tug toy I've ever found. I look forward to purchasing more from this company and I highly recommend!

This is a tug toy, not a chew toy
Our dog is an aggressive chewer, and I’m sure this would only last about five minutes if I gave it to him to chew. But like most braided fleece, that’s not its intended purpose. We use it as a tug toy, for tricks like opening the refrigerator, and as something he can hold while he’s being groomed. Used that way it will probably last forever, and we get a lot of use out of it.We like the colors on this one, and the fleece is nice and soft.

Torn up within 48 hours
I was really excited to try this tug of war toy for my 9 lb Pomeranian mix and 35 lb Pit-lab mix to play with but it started breaking only within 2 hours of them playing with it. The first thing that broke off was part of the frilly loose ends so I wasn't too bothered by that since that part is mostly for aesthetic purposes. So I cut off the little frilly ends and gave it back to them to tug on and of course the rest of it started to unravel by the next day of play to the point that it was totally unsalvageable. I did not let them just use it as a chew toy mind you, ONLY as an interactive tug of war toy as they say it should be used and it still fell apart with dogs that aren't over 40 lbs. Amazon was great though and refunded me for the cost of this toy.
