Works better than expected! Great for fingers and toes!
Wonderful little cooling tube that slides over extremities.Better than I expected! Based on other reviews, I was expecting this small cold pack to warm up quickly, but it lasted quite a bit longer than I expected. I had a drum injury on my thumb, and this slid on perfectly and was nice and cold, bringing down my swelling quickly. But the big surprise came when I had an injury on my big toe. The pain was excruciating and I was afraid to even try using this little gel pack - it was so comfortably snug on my finger, I couldn't imagine trying to put it on my fat big toe. So I gingerly gave it a try... and it slid right on over my toe, utterly painlessly. The cooling helped significantly. This thing is wonderful -- because when you need it, you NEED it. I bought another one, so I can keep one in the freezer, and another on my clumsy beginning drummer's fingers.

Skip this one.
This was NOTHING like I expected and not worth the price. I may have imagined it wrong but it’s like a blown up balloon like sleeve with a hole in the center, but instead of air there is gel. When you put it on unfrozen it won’t stay down on your finger but just rolls up and off the end of your finger. Well, actually I put it on my trigger thumb, so in fairness maybe it would have worked on a longer finger. So then I froze it and I left it on maybe 30 seconds and I think I almost got frost bite. And I put it on over a cloth sleeve I bought for just that purpose. It would be impossible to put this on a toe. It is so big around and fat there would be no room between your toes and . . . .well, it just wouldn’t work. I thought it was only gel filled on one side and it would sort of lay on your finger or toe and would attach some way on the other side but it would be flat. It’s like trying to put a big frozen sausage on your finger. It just doesn’t work. I’m trying to just refrigerate it, rather than freezing it and see if that helps not be too cold but still not sure how I will get it to not roll up and off the end of my thumb. I would not recommend. I think they should sell these at the dollar store. They do sell gel filled freezer gel items at the dollar store. That’s where this belongs. Just No.

Too Cold, Ice Burn
I really wanted to like this item as I was having extreme hand pain and cold therapy was suggested as a treatment. A couple issues with this item. They only cover a portion of the finger/knuckle. My hand issue needed ice further down the finger as well as on the back of the hand. So, these might be good for a bruised knuckle or phalange but anything including/affecting metacarpals, ligaments, or tendons which are attached to the top of the hand or palmar surface, this item does not suffice. Second, and the bigger issue for me, is the temperature. There’s no way to keep these on your fingers without developing an ice burn. I had to keep removing and putting back on my fingers, removing and putting back on, repeat over and over. Without doing this I lost feeling in my finger and had an ice burn. Most traditional ice packs that are made from this gel-like inner material and almost plastic like outer coating require a towel in between ice pack and skin. Due to the small size of this item that is not possible. I believe they should be made of a different outer covering material, something like neoprene but thinner. I cannot recommend this item to others.

So tight, it hurts to put on my finger!
I need to ice my finger because of tendinitis. It’s swollen twice it’s size and so painful just to the touch. Impossible to put this gel finger ice pack on. Hurts so much because the ice pack is so tight! It doesn’t slip on, you’ve got to tug and pull. I just threw it out. There’s got to be a better way. I guess it would depend on your reason for needing to ice finger, but for me it was a complete waste.

A real disappointment
I am on able to recommend this product. It arrived quickly. It was well packaged. I immediately put it in the freezer, and I used it the next day. It has a tendency to roll off your finger. I used it on my thumb and it kept rolling off. I had to hold it to keep it on. It stayed freezing cold for about five minutes and that was it. I will be returning it.

instant relief
Love this. I caught my hand in the door and had to ice my finger a couple times a day. This worked perfect for slipping on and off. And what I love most about this product is the convenience since perfectly wraps around your aching fingers, and provides instant relief, yet its small and compact and so easy to just throw inside the bag or even in my pocket.

Rolls off of my finger.
Love the idea. As other reviewers have said, freezing this is too cold for me, so I keep it in the fridge. Keeping it ON my finger is the real challenge. If I move at all, it pops off. Perhaps you can tape the end onto your fingertip. I found even when I held still it wouldn't stay put unless I held it in place with my other fingers or other hand. Bummer.

terrible
get ready for major burns from this when it comes out of the freezer - blistered my finger. If you let it warm up too much once out of the freezer, it does nothing so there is very little middle ground (either get burned or get nothing)..
