Very aggressive, hard working blade.
I wanted a more aggressive mulching blade to better pull up flattened grass and reduce the big clumps of grass being left by my mower. This blade pushes a lot of air, and it sounds similar to a large box fan. It does a lot more work than the original OEM blade I was using.Experience with this purchase:Blade arrived quickly, and was wrapped in a very thick plastic shrink wrap and packed into a long box. The blade edge was nice and sharp. The blade fit perfectly on my Craftsman lawn mower. The blade was adequately balanced, and did not cause any vibration in my mower. The biggest improvement I noticed was with the grass clippings. After 4 mowings, I have not had ANY clumps of grass. Furthermore, the clippings are VERY fine since the strong air currents and protrusions on the back of the blade keep the clippings suspended for much longer. So far, the blade has resisted the various sticks I've run over in the yard without marring the blade edge, so it appears to be of decent strength so far. I will try to post an update after the season ends.Caveats of using an aggressive blade:* This blade puts a bigger load on the engine in your mower, so you will end up using more gas.* A mower with a weak or worn out engine will struggle on taller grass. This could be problematic for an battery powered mower too.* Some clippings are cut so fine that they turn into a sort of powder. When cutting moist grass, this can cause a thick layer of "slime" to coat the underside of the mower, which will not come off easily using the built-in washer port on your mower. I have found that spraying a little WD40 on the underside of the mower will prevent a lot of the buildup for at least 4 mowing sessions. Tilting the mower and spraying directly underneath with the hose will also get it off.

Counterfeits????
These are listed as Maxpower blades. They come with Maxpower stickers on them. However, If you pull the Maxpower stickers off, you'll find a Copperhead sticker that it was smacked on top of and a Copperhead item number under the other sticker. If I can't trust that this is a Maxpower, can I even trust that it's a true Copperhead blade? Perhaps it's a failed counterfeiting scheme of Copperhead blades that now they're trying to push off as Maxpower. If it's actually a copperhead, and a good blade, so be it, but it's the principal of the thing. I feel there's a strong possibility people are being sold couterfeit items here.

Beautiful Results
I bought this to replace the 4 year old blade on my Husqvarna HV725AWDHQ 96145002800 mower. The Husqvarna site says that the OEM blade is P/N532420463 but this is incorrect. The correct OEM blade P/N is 586179801. They were out of that one so I bought this one instead and I am glad that I did. Even my wife noticed how much nicer the grass looked after mulching. Don't worry about the offset balance holes; they are not used for anything other than balance. The star drive is all that matters and it is a perfect fit. I do notice that spinning the heavier blade robs power from my AWD but I rarely ever want to run at full speed anyway. There is also a noticeable increase in fuel consumption but the results are well worth it. I will with replace this blade with the same blade the next time that I need to.

One New Blade Solves TWO Mower Design Flaws
When searching for replacement parts for my Craftsman mower I discovered it was actually built by Husquavarna. Whether the above mentioned design flaws were the fault of Husquavarna engineers and designers or of specifications supplied to them by Craftsman I do not know, but both flaws seem to be related to the mower blade. The first problem is that the mower I have is the worst mulching mower I've ever owned. I'm 72 and have had a fair number of lawn mowers. Regardless of the grass height being cut I'd be left with dozens of clumps of grass throughout the entire lawn. Mowing twice did nothing but move the clumps around, so after each mowing I walked the lawn with my leaf blower to blow the clumps apart. The mower I have has one lever to control the height of all 4 wheels and the second design flaw was when lowering the deck to cut the grass fairly short the deck would actually scrape the lawn and going over an uneven patch the deck would actually damage the turf. This new mulching blade from Maxpower is the blade design the mower should have come with in the first place. After using it the first time on grass that was a little taller than I usually allow it to grow there were two or three small clumps that were easily broken up with a swift pass of my foot. Further improvement would require redesigning the mower deck. As for the second problem the new blade is designed such that the plane of the cutting edge is stepped down from the mounting plane of the blade by about 1/2 inch making cutting edge of the blade even with the lower edge of the mower deck - no more scraping the lawn. In fact now the mower could probably be lowered enough to safely manicure a golf green, before it would have destroyed the golf green. This mulching blade from Maxpower is highly recommended and has probably saved me from having to place my mower into early retirement and spending another $300 -$400 on a new mower.

Great Mulching Blade For My Craftsman Mower
MaxPower 331749X Commercial Mulching Blade for 22" Lawn Mower fit my Craftsman mower. Installation only took a couple minutes. This is my 3rd season (purchased July 2017) w/this blade & it has done an excellent job on my lawn. I do sharpen it before each season & it holds an edge pretty well. The ends of the blades of grass are cleanly cut & the blade does an excellent job mulching the clippings. If you need a new mulching blade for your mower & it’s center hole is “5 pointed star”, than I can recommend this blade.

Nice blade!
I was having a serious problem with clumping with the blade that came with the Husqvarna AWD HU800. Night and day difference when I put the maxpower blade on. First the engine noise improve dramatically. There was this high pitch "valve-pinging" noise that was complete gone with the new blade. After I mow the lawn and before I put the lawn mower away, I scrape the fresh grass from the deck. To my wonderment, the deck was complete dry and clump free. I mulch almost 100% when I'm mowing; unless the grass is really long, then I side discharge.

Best blade in 30 years of mulching
I've used a mulching mower for over 30 years (john deer, craftsman, etc.). Always a top line model with OEM mulching blade. Currently Craftsman 22" self propelled. This blade is a major upgrade.Just mowed my 80 year old neighbour's lawn (first mow). damp/wet/very long (8-12"). No grass clumps. none. Expected to have a thick coating of clippings under the deck as per usual (even i summer). Nothing. amazing. As someone else noted, not a lot of lift (little branches still there when mowed), but turns grass clippings into powder, even damp grass.

Ok blade nothing special
Ordered this blade based on other reviews that is works excellent. Well it works ok but probably gonna put the original blade back on to be honest. This one works ok but has no lift at all and after mowing there is lots of grass that was not cut. In my experience it doesn’t mulch any better than the stock blade.

needs to be sharpened
I found that in order to use it you have to remove the factory coating and sharpen and rebalance the blade. I found it doesn't quite give a better cut than a regular blade. Maybe it will perform better chopping up the fall leaves

good value
This blade arrived in two days and is exactly what I was looking for.I needed the 5-point mount for my Ariens 22in push mower and although the description did not mention Ariens, it looked like it should work. And it did.Yes, the blade did need to be sharpened before use, as others have mentioned.

Great mulching blade
Hands down the best mulching blade I have ever used. Took about 2 minutes to install , no vibration when running and chews the grass so fine you can't see it. I have a Poulan Pro and it's 100% better than the factory blade. I would highly recommend this blade to anyone who mulches their lawn.
