Complete kit with added bonuses at a great price.
This kit had pretty much all I needed to replace the Moen 1222 cartridge in my Posi-Temp Shower valve......and then some bonuses!! The kit came with the Allen key for removing the handle (so I didn't have to scramble around looking for the correct key). The removal tool worked perfectly removing the leaking cartridge that had been in place, unused, for several years in the guest shower. Loved the tool, it really was needed to pull a very stubborn cartridge out. The new cartridge fit perfectly into the valve body and is working just fine- no leaks, no drips, no dribbles. I stated that it came with bonuses. Besides the Allen key, it also came with a second set of the valve seals for future use (or maybe another cartridge reseal in another bathroom?) -what a deal! The only things I needed were a Phillips screw driver, and some needle nose pliers. The instructions were also good, but I would still advise anyone doing this job to check out some of the videos on the net (Moen has some on their site) for some of the fine points of setting the temp and getting a closeup view of the steps involved in this repair. ENJOY!

Makes replacement easier with tool especially on old valve

It works, but doesn't feel as solid as the old valve.
When compared to the 27 yr old OEM valve I replaced... this valve is lighter and much easier to open/close (less resistance). It just feels like it won't last as long... but hey, who knows. And I have no idea if new OEM parts are made any better. It did install easily enough (be sure to remove the retaining pin before trying to remove the old valve... this stole 10 minutes of my life). After installation, it is very easy (too easy) to adjust the flow. There is very little resistance when turning the handle, but there is enough resistance to keep it from turning due to the weight of the handle. Supplied removal tool is not heavy duty... but it worked will enough.

Easy replacement
Our bathtub shower cartridge got bad and started leaking. It may be about ten years old as we are not the original owners of the house, otherwise we could have got a free replacement from MOEN. I opted to try the market item as a replacement because of the price. Product reviews were mixed, however I decided to go with this model. The replacement part I got had the tool and also information on how to change it. Though it was detailed with lots of pictures, I was confused and overwhelmed. Then I watched some of the YouTube videos that clarified well, and I was able to change the valve cartridge without any issue (tool not used) and the leakage stopped. There was no need to use any of the additional items like O ring, plastic sidings and the clip that may help in case it starts dripping again. Since the part is not from MOEN, I am skeptical how long it will last. Overall, it went on well, easier than I expected. I am happy with the part, hopefully it will last for a few years.

Disappointing Performance
It didn’t fit properly and caused constant leaks, which was frustrating. After only a few uses, the water pressure dropped significantly. I expected better quality and durability.

Moen / All you need to do cartridge repair.
Product appears to be same as OEM that had quit supplying hot water. The product had grease packet (small) plus extra clip and rubber seals. Really glad that it also had Allen wrench for faucet handle. The puller was easy to use and worked easily. I think the plastic part that is sent to try to loosen the valve is pretty worthless. With much pressure it would break. It didn’t do anything much for me. I can see how people that have had a real build up might have problem pulling theirs out. Mine was relatively easy to pull out with puller. Cartridge went back in smoothly and seems good for now. Used in a guest room bath and doesn’t get used a lot. Very good value for all the parts and the puller.

Great puller, bad cartridge
It is not nearly as durable as the name brand cartridges but it's a fraction of the price. It did fit fine and changed temperature of the water but it dripped the whole time. It might be worth buying this just for the pulling tool
