Too small, magnet not powerful enough. Overall recommended not for a garage and only if you really need to use this every once in a while

This is nicely made, the two comments I'd make are on the magnetic holder.The DTI part has a travel of about 1.39mm which was OK for me.The base magnetic is fairly weak and if you don't have it on a completely flat steel surface the DTI alone will push it off.The coupling arm had retaining clips on the ball joints, these were sharp and scratched the ball joint. I disassembled and filed the sharp edges off and it was OK. But not really something anyone should be doing on a new item.Otherwise it's a good little unit for the price.
