AC Infinity White Ventilation Grille 18", for PC Computer AV Electronic Cabinets, replacement grille for AIRPLATE S9/T9

Had to paint as it was white and needed black.

I installed these white vents replacing black vents on a AC Infinity AIRPLATE T9 and it worked perfect. Looks great.

I purchased two of these ventilation grilles for my 'in-door' installation of my AIRPLATE S9. The S9 comes with black grilles, so I wanted to help them blend in to the door to my media closet. They work and fit perfectly, I didn't have to go to the trouble of priming and painting the ones that came with it. Direct bolt on replacements, and I had the S9 apart anyways to change the orientation of the fans to draw air into the closet, and exhaust the air out the top. Perfect solution for me. All the wiring runs up inside the door too, apart from the one power cord on the inside. Keeps my components inside the closet running nice and cool.

The fans are super quiet -- until the grill is on. The grill makes the fan sounds (virtually silent by themselves) about 10 times louder than they are spinning alone. It goes from virtually silent to an annoying hum. So disappointing. :-( I tried both the black grill it came with and this white grill, with no apparent difference. Same annoying hum, and swapping the fans was a pain. There's nothing to hold the fans in the right place, so you have to balance them over the holes (or where you guess the holes are) while holding the wires and balancing the unconnected grill plates and trying to get stuff screwed in without everything falling apart. The only good thing about this fan grill is that it *looks* nice.

So, this is a great cover to swap with the default black one. Yes, it is just painted, but what else would you expect. It works great, but they didn't think through what they send you to truly make the swap equal. It doesn't come with the screws needed to make the black cover a passive cover (see the picture with the white screws on the black cover). Also, they don't include the cushions that were on the black fan grills to put on the white fan grills (for noise reduction). You have to peel them off the old to put on the new white cover. The tape isn't all that sticky afterwards. See other pic for the mounted white cover (need a second fan kit up top). I'm using this to cool an av closet, working well so far.
