The info on this page is correct, black is hot and white is ground in respect to the lamp assembly .
The info on this page is correct, black is hot and white is ground in respect to the lamp assembly itself. That means you need to connect the white wire from the lamp to the black wire from the truck. Black from the truck is ground, white from the truck is 12, hot.

A marker light quickly quit working.
I bought a kit for my pickup truck, and shortly after using them one of the marker lights failed. There's power to the light, but it failed shortly after the short warranty window. Made in China- beware of this product.
