Works As I Expected for My MBP
I do a lot of spreadsheet work on my laptop while I'm on my long business trips to Asia and have always used a numeric keypad for data entry. I can't stand typing in numbers from the normal keyboard in a row.I had a Bluetooth keypad that had two extra columns of buttons that I hardly ever used and which required two AA batteries, so it was bulkier than it needed to be and being mindful of the batteries wasn't something I needed during business trips. But the worst part of this keypad was that it kept disconnecting with my new MBP. It got so frustrating that I decided that I had to get a new keypad.I wanted Bluetooth (don't want one with another USB dongle to worry about losing) with a rechargeable battery and with a smallest possible footprint. These other function buttons may be nice to have but I realized that I was only keying in numbers on spreadsheets. The ability to use the cursor arrows would be nice but it's really just a matter of moving one's hand a few inches to the arrow buttons on the MBP.The space grey version matches up well enough with the space grey on the MBP. Even Apple's own space grey keyboard and trackpad do not match up exactly the same as the space grey on the MBP so I don't think a little mismatch is something to be bothered by.As far as I can tell, this Satechi keypad sits firmly on the desks I've tried it on and does not wobble at all. Sometimes, one has to be mindful about the evenness of the desk surfaces. The keys feel fine although quite different from those on the new MBP and the Apple keyboards as well. The Satechi keys feel a little spongier and that may bother some people but it doesn't bother me at all. It feels good to me and all the keys work fine.I really like it that it's so compact, can recharge through a USB micro port and, most all, that it doesn't disconnect constantly like my previous keypad did. It keeps me productive on the road with the least amount of hassles, is super portable and simply does what it's supposed to do.

Good build quality, and nice styling.
I recently bought an iMac, and just hated the included keyboard. After a morning of typing, I felt like I needed to ice my hands. The key travel is really short. I also didn't like that i had no number pad. with a little research I found the right keyboard for me, but still no number pad. Going off the Amazon reviews, I selected this one. I am quite pleased. It didn't take long to set up. I have found I actually like having detatched number pad. I now have my touchpad between the keyboard and the number pad. It works out very well for my work flow.

Convenient; Useful; Small critiques
The Satechi Keypad does the job! That is the important feature. Wirelessly connects to my MacBook without issues and I can use it on the go when computing my spreadsheet data. Its size is convenient where I can just drop it into my bag and use it as I need; or leave it when I do not.My only criticisms - which are not enough to change my mind about future purchases - is the color and the clanking.I opted for the space gray to match my MacBook and while close enough, the gray is not identical. Yet, it is close enough to know you are attempting to match your device that I can live with the results. My second criticism, which goes along with what other reviewers have said, is that while pressing on the keys, the materials or at least the firmness of the accessory sound "cheap". While I do not feel the device will essentially break, it does sound clanky and loud enough to make you feel you will-as opposed to the laptop as I type.Other than that I am very satisfied with the product as I wanted a small, sleek numeric keypad to take on the go as I need to do work remotely.

Does not wake up when the computer does
Complete waist of money. It does not wake up when the computer does. You are required to hit a button wait for 3-5 seconds for the blue light to turn on then off. Then you can use the keypad. After 5-10 minutes of non use it goes back to sleep and you are required to wake it back up. According to Satachi this is a feature hard coded into the keypad to save the battery. I thru it away and purchased an OEM Apple full size keyboard problem solved although expensive.

Good while it lasted
Overall a good keypad, but will not last very long. It matches the apple magic keyboard well and works well on both OSX and Windows 7. However, after moderate daily use, it only lasted around 6 months before it broke. All of a sudden it was like a ghost was pressing the backspace key, anything typed would get deleted. First I thought it was the computer acting up, but through process of elimination of the connected peripherals, this device was the one causing the system issues. Would not buy again at this price-point, as I would rather not have to purchase two of these every year.

I also enjoy it's thin enough to travel well
As other reviewers have mentioned the build quality feels cheap. I bought it for my Chromebook Pixel and it matches well enough and is thin enough to sit flush with my keyboard. I also enjoy it's thin enough to travel well.Unfortunately, the keys are noisy and a bit cheap. You can tell the upper keys where the unit is thicker feel a lot beefier and quieter than the lower keys where it slims down. I really wish they had just kept the thickness even throughout to make all of the other keys feel just as smooth and quiet.Satechi went for fashion over function to mark up a product as premium, when it is not.Pros:- Looks stylish- Very thin, giving it great portability and flushness with my laptop- I like the extra wide "0" since I don't use the 00 on other numpads.- Keys are well thought out (clear and backspace versus numlock)Cons:- Keys are noisy and feel cheap- Sometimes I have to re-pair to get working again- Pricey
